[Coles POV]
There he was, the light of my life, smiling as the wind blew though his hair. As we flew over the ocean, aiming to catch some sort of sea monster, I can’t help but get distracted watching him. Besides, I was at the back of the line, no one would notice.
Ever since Jay and I told each other how we felt, things have been awkward with the team. We decided not to tell anyone, not just yet.
Considering we just lost Garmadon, the mood aboard the bounty was definitely not a positive one, and Jay and I knew it wasn’t the right time to tell anyone. But whenever I saw him, I couldn’t help but smile. I couldn’t help but turn red. He made me so happy that being near him almost gave us away.
He did the same thing whenever I was near.
We haven't decide to call each other boyfriends yet, and I was okay with that. We haven’t really talked about any sort of future together really. I guess making sure Lloyd, Sensei Wu and Misako were okay after Garmadons passing has been everyone’s top priority.
Sometimes when the team isn’t looking, he’d hold my hand or plant a small kiss on my face, having to go on his tiptoes to reach me.
Whatever we were, I was enjoying it.
The sunlight illuminated his freckles and blue eyes. It made him almost angelic.
“Cole?”
I look over to my right where the sound came from, it was Zane.
“Yeah what’s up?”
“Nothing, it’s just that you seem out if it, and considering we’re on a mission, I think being fully focused would be wise.”
“Yeah... Sorry. I was just thinking about... Something i heard earlier.”
His dragon makes its way ahead of me, not bothering to respond to my reply. I think his robot senses might have known I was lying.
Finally capturing the sea monster we were after, it was time to head home. I was about to start my journey home when I started to get a pounding headache.
I told the others I’d catch up with them and made my way to somewhere out of sight to sit down.
I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding it. Where did this headache come from? I close my eyes, resting he head back against the wall I was leaning against.
“You alright?”
My eyes remained closed as I replied to the voice.
“Yeah. Yeah I’m alright”
My voice is soft as I begin finding it difficult to talk.
The person I’m communication with takes a seat next to me, placing their head on my shoulder. That’s when I realise who it is.
“is this your way of wanting to spend more time with me? What did you tell the others, that your going to stay back and make sure I’m okay.”
I chuckle a little bit, as does he.
“That’s exactly what I told them.”
He laughs his classic Jay Walker laugh before grabbing a hold of my hand.
“But seriously, what’s wrong.”
“I... I don’t really know. I have a horrible headache but it’s affecting me differently to how headaches normally do.”
He replies with a quiet ‘oh’ before removing his head from my shoulder. I turn to face him to see what he’s doing, and when our eyes meet, he plants a small kiss on my head.
