Dear Lana
Everything over here reminds me of home
Waking up to specialties
Playing kings and spades with the boys
Like Long Island on a long island
Neighbors are a pain
Always cutting our roses with their own
Paperboy couldn't give 'em a good delivery
Boss man Buckner is paying us our do for the yard clean
Some pesky gophers keep gnawing at my boots
Takes a lot of time to flush 'em out
Never liked gophers myself
Always burrowing into your yard uninvited
Friends of the town bullies
A lot of the good folk here are in a hoo-hah over the fire
Had to move them out
A few of the guys are taking a day, some a few more
Red sparrows keep diving for our picnic bread
Next town over looks peaceful through
Not the best beaches if I might add
Storm is coming in soon
May need a fresh coat and slippers
Summer camp beats the local diner
Trucks broken down, but nothing too harsh
Finally staging a round up into the holes
Catching a few critters but not all of 'em
Today's forecast: heavy rain with lots of iron
Keep the stove on. Be back soon
