"Well, this makes things more complicated now, doesn't it?" Seokjin laughs.
However, Chantelle doesn't find this situation very funny. She sits up a bit more, putting two hands on the gun and aiming it straight at his chest. "How did you get in here?"
She feels fear coursing through her, but she tries her best to keep it at bay. He can't know that she's scared of him. It's exactly what he wants.
"All I had to do was tell the maintenance man I was responding to a call upstairs. You should've seen how fast he handed over the keys."
That's right, he's in his uniform so he can practically get away with anything.
Chantelle ignores the sick feeling in her stomach, tightening the grip on her gun. "What do you want?"
"For you to come with me."
"That's not happening, Seokjin. We're not together anymore." She says carefully.
"You don't get to make those decisions, Chantelle." He replies firmly. "If I want you, I will have you. That's it."
"No, Jin, that's not how relationships work. That's not how life works." She gulps. "If you just go home now, we can forget this ever happened and-"
She's interrupted with the sound of him cocking the gun. "I think you're forgetting I have a loaded weapon here."
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." She cocks hers as well, evening the playing field.
"Shoot me, I dare you." He taunts, his eyes widened with that same psychotic look she saw just days ago. "I know you won't, you're too scared."
"Jin, don't make me do this." Her voice starts to waver a bit, making him laugh.
"See? You're not gonna do shit." He steps closer, still aiming his weapon at her. Chantelle gulps, pointing her gun at his leg. If she really has to shoot him, she'll be able to escape but she won't kill him. "C'mon, Chantelle. I thought you were a big, bad detective? Then why can't you fucking-"
She presses down on the trigger.
But instead of a gun shot, all she hears is a clicking sound. She presses it again, only for the same thing to happen. Her heart sinks as she realizes what is happening.
"Aw, it jammed." Jin fakes a pout. Then in one swift move, he knocks the weapon out of her hands and onto the floor. "Looks like this just got a whole lot easier. C'mon, let's go."
"I'm not going anywhere with you." She clenches her jaw defiantly, making sure to look him in the eye when she does so.
But all that earns her is a slap in the face. She barely gets enough time to recover before his hand is around her throat. "I said let's go. Don't make me add a bullet wound to that injury collection you have going."
