"This is all your fault." Hana grumbles. "If you found who killed my grandma, my dad would still be alive."

It is at this moment that Chantelle wishes she had just asked Hana to drive herself over to the station. Because now she's stuck in the car with her for twenty five minutes, having no choice but to listen her spew bullshit like this.

No matter how much Chantelle expresses her condolences or reassures her that she's working as hard as she can, Hana keeps going on and on about how much she sucks at her job. It's getting insulting at this point.

"How do you know it's the same killer?" Detective Taylor raises a brow at the slightly older woman.

"If it wasn't, it would be too much of a coincidence." She reasons, leaning back into the passenger's seat. "Tell me, was there a smiley face at my father's crime scene too?"

"That's classified information." Chantelle mumbles.

Hana scoffs, as if that vague answer said more than a simple 'yes' would have. "That's what you call a killer's signature, right?"

"Correct." She nods, keeping her eyes on the road.

"You don't have any leads yet, do you?" Hana asks, a condescending tone to her voice.

Despite having just learned about her father's death, she seems more angry rather than heartbroken. It's not an unusual response, people react differently to death.

But anger is usually the more unpleasant emotion to deal with.

"We have one that we're currently looking into." Chantelle answers vaguely, thinking about the Larry Schumer guy Mrs. Jeon informed them about.

If he wanted to buy into the family's ginormous wine company and Jihyun didn't let him, Larry could've killed the man out of anger. There's definitely a motive there.

"Who is it?" Hana asks.

"I can't tell you that right now." Detective Taylor replies.

Hana can't say much else before they have arrived at the station. Much like before, there is still paparazzi waiting outside to get a glimpse of the family the whole country is talking about right now.

Chantelle wordlessly maneuvers through them, taking Hana straight to the interrogation room for questioning. She goes through a similar procedure to the one she did with her mother, asking her questions such as what she did yesterday and when was the last time she spoke with her father.

After some time, Detective Taylor realizes she's not getting any useful information. So she lets Hana go, who decides to just take a cab home.

By this time, it's already past noon and Chantelle is exhausted. Time for more coffee.

She heads to the break room, glad to finally have some peace and quiet for a few minutes. The detective feels like she's been running around all day and can't catch a break.
