Prologue: Living in Luxury

In a forest far away, there were four guardians of the Enchanted Forest. They were ordinary people given powers because they possessed a certain love of nature. There were two girls, Coral, who had the power of water, and Rose, who had the power of earth, and since she was the leader, flight. There were also two boys, Gale, who had the power of wind, and finally, Fyron, who had the power of fire. They guarded and cared for the forest and its animals. They protected the forest with a magical barrier of their own powers. For example, if it was Coral making it, it would be invisible water. They surrounded themselves in luxury, with silky gowns and suits and courtyards and mood circlets and crystal plates and silver goblets and huts that didn't follow the rules of their name. Only humans who truly loved nature could get through the barriers, while the rest were shut out. The Guardians and the animals call ordinary humans Meddlers. The gems that give the Guardians their powers allowed them to talk to animals and made them and their family immortal. They had to keep them safe and the Meddlers away from two things that were too dangerous to be exposed to anyone. First, an apple tree. But not just any apple tree. A poisoned apple tree. One good bite of an apple would make you sick, then kill you. The second thing was the Gem of Nature. It was a Gem with all the Guardians' powers, and more. And if it was destroyed, the whole world would also be destroyed. That was why the Guardians kept both things away from the animals and Meddlers with four layers of barriers, each consisting of one of the Guardians powers. The animals all knew about both, so they didn't really need to worry about the things except for the daily checks that they did. But one day it all went wrong...
