The next morning they were back at Rose's hut playing checkers. After their first game Rose said to Coral,
"We need to talk".
"Why?" Coral said back.
"Well it's about the Gem."
"The gem Fyron gave to me?" Coral was confused.
"No, it's about the Gem of Nature we are guarding."
"Oh."
"Well I already talked to Gale about this, but a lookout animal, Mo, said that he thought he saw someone or something trying to go into the Enchanted Forest. He thought it might be because of the Gem."
"But anyone who destroys it will destroy the whole world!" Coral said, almost yelling.
"I know, but they might have wanted it for powers, you know, like ours."
"True, but how did they know that if you destroy the Gem it will destroy the world?"
"Maybe they don't want to do any harm. Maybe they want to do good in the world."
Just then, Mo the Rabbit came out of nowhere. You would know that Mo is a look out animal because he wore a green hat on his head and he was the only look out rabbit. Mo looked worried. Then he spoke.
"A guy just ran into the North Tower and tackled our defenses!"
Then Mo lowered his head in guilt.
"I'm sorry. We tried as hard as we could but we just couldn't stop him. He.... he took the Gem of Nature."
The two girls looked at each other in shock. There was a pause. Then they tore across the forest, heading for the North Tower. Coral ran, but Rose flew.
If we hurry, thought Coral, we might be able to catch a glimpse of the Gem thief before he gets away.
When they got there, they looked at the forest exit near the looming tower. They saw a person running to it. As they got near, they saw who it was. It made their mouths drop open in shock. They shook their heads, it couldn't be true. The person running from them was Fyron!
But Fyron didn't have the Gem. His brother did! They figured it was his brother because the person looked a lot like Fyron. Even though he looked like him, he had different colored eyes. The real Fyron was running behind him, as he was running he yelled:
"STOP! STOP!"
His brother did not stop. He kept on running out of the forest. Then he somehow fell and the Nature Gem broke in half!
"Good thing that was the fake Nature Gem," Coral whispered to Rose.
"Yeah, that was a close one," Rose whispered back. "The real Nature Gem is a lot bigger."
"That is true, and it is a lot harder to find." Coral said.
Fyron's brother left without the Gem. Fyron came to Coral and Rose.
"Can I have my gem back? Because I now know what Fred is after," Fyron said, panting.
"Sure," Coral said politely.
She put out her hand. A little burst of water went flying in midair. When the water disappeared there were two gems; the fire gem and the water gem. Fyron carefully took the fire gem from Coral's hand.
"Thanks," Fyron said, almost blushing.
"You're welcome," Coral said, smiling awkwardly.
"Wait guys, we need to make a plan on how we are going to defeat Fred," Gale said, trying to stop everyone that was walking to their hut's.
"We can do that tomorrow, okay Gale?" said Fyron.
"AND WE NEED TO HURRY!!!" Rose remarked. She was sitting on the branch of a tree.
