Two hours later, Rose was relaxing outside the scout's cabins.
"Aaaah," Rose said, relaxed. "It's hard to take care of seventy scout animals."
She started to sing her favorite song:
"One hundred bottles of milk on the wall, one hundred bottles of milk, take it down, pass it around, ninety nine bottles of milk on the wall..."
When she was almost done singing Gale was going past the scout cabins and it looked like it would take a minute to get to Rose.
"One bottle of milk on the wall, one bottle of milk, take it down, pass it around, zero bottles of milk on the wall!" Rose sang happily but a little too fast. She was fast because Gale was almost to her, and the other Guardians thought the song was kind of annoying.
Gale was now right in front of Rose, staring at her with a weird expression on his face.
"Ummm....You okay?"
"Rose, I have to ask you something," he said, ignoring her. Rose noticed that he had something behind his back. He was breathing weirdly. He knelt down on one knee.
"Rosalee Flemming. Will you marry me?" he asked with all his might.
And he put out the thing that was behind his back. It was a ring! Rose was crying for the fourth time today.
"Yes, I will marry you!" Rose said, nodding and crying, her jewel shining impossibly bright.
Gale slipped the ring onto Rose's finger and hugged her. She kissed him. On the lips! Which is disgusting!
"Well, when should we have our wedding?" said Gale excitedly.
Rose didn't answer.
"Should we have it by Maya's tree?" suggested Gale.
"Let me think about it," Rose said quickly.
Then Gale walked away.Rose got up the next morning to go check on the scouts to see if they were ready to check things out in Maya's Memorial Tree.
"Come on everyone." Rose said sleepily, When she got to the tree. "Do you want to look at Maya's tree?"
"I want to!" Mo said excitedly.
"I do too!" May said jumping up and down.
They went across the forest to look at the tree. It was a pretty long walk. When they all got to the tree they sat on the benches immediately because they were so tired from the walk. But when they looked at it, it was so beautiful that all the animal mouths dropped open.
"It is pretty and I have to go poop," said Liliana, laughing.
Everyone started laughing except Mo and May because they wanted to look inside.
"It's even more beautiful on the inside than the outside..." May said, still looking in the tree.
When everyone heard that they wanted to look inside the tree to see if she was right. The box that Rose made for Maya was in there and a picture of Maya and Mo. There was even a picture of all the animal scouts. The smallest picture was when Maya and May were babies and they were hugging! Both Mo and May were crying because they missed Maya so much. They also found all of Maya's stuff at the bottom, like her stuffed hedgehog and her favorite ball. It took three hours to get the seventy animal kids to look in the tree and get them out. Coral came running to Maya's tree to see if anything was broken, because she wanted it to stay intact.
"Yay! Nothing's broken!" Coral said happily
"Coral, I have to tell you something," Rose said, breathing fast. "Gale and I are getting married! Oh, that feels good getting it out."
"You are!? But the wedding! When are you having it!? Where are you having it!?" Coral said loudly, trying to get answers.
"I don't know." Rose shrugged.
"Can I design it?" Coral said hopefully.
"You can but we are not having it right now. So wait till
I say you can start designing, okay?"
"Okay," Coral said, a little less hopeful.
Coral skipped away happily. When Coral disappeared, Gale walked over to Rose and sat down next to her.
"I have a question for you. What are we going to name our babies?" Gale asked Rose.
"Well we don't have any babies yet and when we do I will think about it." Rose said.
"Good night. I love you," Gale said to Rose.
"Love you too," Rose said quietly, and kissed Gale again.
"By the way I told Coral about our wedding. She said she wanted to design it. Is that okay with you?"
"Sure. I just have a question for you, again, where are we going to have the wedding?" asked Gale.
"Like I said, I will think about it." Rose said, reminding him.
