Nightfall soon came as Ace slipped back on Ace's shirt and buttoned it up.

Ace too got himself dressed again as he gave her a small smile.

She retied her hair and grabbed her knifes. Each one went back in her pocket as he did the same with his.

The pair climbed down from the treehouse as silence was heard all around them.

The town had gone to bed. But they both knew for sure there would be two people awake.

King.

J.

Ace offered his hand out to her. She smiled as she accepted it and his thumb gently brushed over the ring as they both took off, walking back into the Main Street of Castle Rock.

All was dark and all was silent as they did. Both Aces kept their ears and eyes peeled.

Then they heard it.

A motorbike.

Ace's hand gripped his tighter.

Ace's hand gripped hers tighter.

They were walking in the middle of the road but stopped the moment they saw a single headlight coming for them.

The blaring sound of the bike engine grew louder and louder as it got closer and closer.

"Ace..." she whispered.

"I know." He whispered back. "Me too."

And that was it. The unspoken love between the Aces was now spoken. Neither needed to question it. Neither needed to question how they knew what the other meant.

They were Aces. Aces always knew what other Aces meant. Aces belonged together.

The motorbike stopped and the engine cut as the biker dismantled and removed their helmet.

"Alright love." King said sarcastically as he chucked his helmet to the floor.

"Don't suppose you know what happened to Club and Jack do you?" He asked as he slowly sauntered forward. "Been looking for them all day." He continued.

Ace gripped her hand tighter. He didn't trust this man with anything let alone the girl of his dreams and nightmares combined.

"You know where they are." She answered.

King laughed as he moved closer even more.

"Oh yeah!" He snapped back. "You fucking did them in!" He yelled and reached into his jacket, pulling a gun out and aiming it straight at her.

Ace instantly yanked her behind him and put himself between her and the guns aim. She quickly began yanking on his shirt but he refused to budge and let her up front.

"What a surprise you need lil lover boy to face your big brother?" King said laughing, still pointing his gun up at them.

"Let's talk love. Brother to sister. Sister to brother."

Ace growled at him as Ace finally brought herself in front of him, glaring down at her brother in the street.

"You know you don't want to talk King." She started.

Ace tried yanking her back but it was her turn not to budge. This was her battle and she'd be damned if she let him get hurt defending her.

"Well I'm sure we could come up with a few words before this ends." King snapped sarcastically.

"You want me to be a good big brother for you? Tell this guy if he hurts you, we'll kill him?" He laughed as he shook his head.

"No no that's not for us to do. He should know by now what you're like. You don't get hurt do you love? You do the hurting."

Ace growled again behind her but she held her hand back to him.

"Does he know about Darren?" King asked with a laugh.

Ace had had enough. "Course I fucking know!" He snapped at her brother.

Ace spun on her heel and stared at him in shock. How did he know?!

King seemed genuinely surprised.

"Seriously? You know?" He asked in shock.

"How?" Ace mumbled up at him.

He ignored her but nodded at her brother.

"I know he lied and betrayed her so she shot him in the leg and set fire to his house with him inside." He snapped back.

King laughed and shook his head.

"Oh you poor innocent boy!" He shouted and laughed again. "If that's all you know then I wish you all the best of luck going up against her!"

Ace was confused. This was the story the girls had told him and the cobras about Ace. He looked down at her slightly as he saw guilt and pain flush in her eyes.

"Go on love! Put him out of his misery!" King shouted, still laughing. "Tell him the rest of the story!"

Ace shook her head slightly, still staring up at the man she was sure who would leave. Ace looked over her face as he tried to understand.

There couldn't be more. The girls would have said. But then they knew there could potentially be something between both Aces. So they wouldn't say what. Unless.

His eyes locked with hers as they both heard the shout.

"That's right lover boy!" King said, still laughing at how his sister had kept it such a secret.

"Darren was your little girlfriends fiancée!"

More laughter was heard from him as Ace instantly dropped his eyes to look down at the ring on her finger.

She had shot, killed and burnt alive her own fiancée.

"Ace..." she whimpered out at him.

"We lied and told her he'd slept with some other girl which of course meant she did what she did! No-one betrays an Ace!" King shouted again.

Ace's expression changed slightly as she turned to face her brother.

"What do you mean you lied?" She snapped at him.

King just continued laughing and waved the gun about.

"You don't think he actually slept with her do you?! Oh please the dude was smitten with you! We only needed him dead because he told J he wouldn't work with us and wanted to get you away from us!" King shouted back at her.

Ace felt her heart stop. Her mind flashed back to when that night. The way he told over and over he didn't do it. The way he'd pleaded her not to listen to her brothers. The way he screamed as the bullet went through his leg.

He was telling the truth.

Her brothers had lied.

Her brothers had wanted him dead.

She had killed him.

She killed an innocent.

"Ace..." she heard a whisper behind her but she stayed stuck to her spot.

Her eyes locked with King as he stood there smirking, he had broken his sister. Yet he felt nothing but enjoyment at seeing her crumble. He felt nothing but enjoyment at seeing her Ace behind her unable to do anything upon hearing she'd killed her own fiancée.

"I mean if it makes you feel any better..." King started as he brought his gun up to face her. "You'll see him very soon." He said as he used his thumb to lock and load it.

Aiming straight at her head.
