Raven's pov:

I'm walking along the beach shore, watching the waves rising and falling.

"Hey Rae." Wyatt says as he starts walking next to me.

"Oh hi Wyatt. What's up?" I ask.

"I think you know. You've been here for a long time Raven. They're gonna stop trying to keep your body alive."

I sigh. "I know Wyatt." I sit down and watch the sunsetting. Wyatt sits next to me.

"You got to make a decision Rae. Go back or stay here. Either choose is the right one."

"I like it here. I'm not in pain, I'm not paralyzed, I have nothing to worry about. But we both know I can't leave Tyler and the kids. I'm just scared to go back."

Wyatt rests his arm around my shoulders. "I get that. But you have to decide quickly. After today there's no going back. You'll be here forever."

I frown. "You mean I can actually go back now?"

When I first appeared here, I couldn't go back to my body. I was stuck here. But I didn't mind much. Now I can actually go back.

"Yeah. It's now or never."

"Can't you go back? I mean you were Tyler's best friend."

Wyatt shakes his head. "It's doesn't work like that. I've missed my chance. And here the depression can't take over me. But you can still go back."

I nod. "Ok. Maybe I'm safe here, but I have a family that needs me."

Wyatt smiles at me. "Nice knowing you Raven. It was a please meeting the person who has my bestie wrapped around their finger."

I wave to Wyatt. "See you in the future I guess."

"Yeah. But it better be far in the future. You can't be dying any time soon."

I chuckle and nod. "I promise to the best of my ability."

Everything goes black, and then everything hurts. There's an annoying beeping somewhere in the distance, along with pounding in my head. I try to open my eyes, but as soon as I get them open I'm blinded by a bright white light.

Gosh, did I seriously just die again?

I groan as I try to open my eyes again. The stupid light burns my eyes.

"Raven? Oh dear are you waking up?! Your eyes just opened! I saw it!" A voice I've never heard before exclaims. "Here, I'll go get a nurse. I know you're awake Raven. Just stay awake until I come back with a nurse!"

As I wait for whoever that was, I open my eyes again, but this time I just let my eyes basically die at the bright light.

Darn it Wyatt! Could've warned me about the searing hot light? Biggest jerk of the world award goes to you.

Once my eyes have adjusted to the light, I see I'm in a hospital room. Which I had expected. There's various wires and tubes sticking out of my body, and my throat feels on fire. Probably the tube going down my throat.

Within seconds, there's like five doctors and seven nurses in the room plus a lady I've never met before, but she's clearly a patient here by her iv, hospital gown, oxygen tank, and missing hair.

She's asked to leave, and doctors run multiple tests on me and oil a few tubes out of me, like the one shoved down my throat and the one going up my nose to who knows where.

Soon enough it's just me, until the one lady comes back into my room.

"Hi. My name's Maranda. I know all about you. Tyler and I are friends."

I smile at Maranda. I'd wave at her or shake her hand but everything hurts.

"Tyler won't be able to visit you until tomorrow, since visiting hours are over and he can't risk getting caught sneaking in again. But I have no doubt he'll be here at least an hour before visiting hours."

Maranda sits in the chair that's next to my bed, and she smiles at me. "Tyler and I made this agreement, if you wake up while I'm here, I stay with you until he gets here, and if you wake up while he's here, he has to buy me lunch other then this crappy hospital food. So I hope you don't mind me keeping you company."

I shake my head. "I don't mind at all." I say, my voice sounding drier than the Sahara desert. Maranda hands me a cup of water, and I gulp it all down in less then a second.

"I don't suppose you know anything about my baby do you?" I ask. I'm not sure if Tyler talked to Maranda about my baby, and if it's still alive. But it's worth a shot, I can't wait until he comes to get my answer.

Although I might not need him or Maranda to tell me. Something inside me feels empty. It feels off. Cold.

Maranda shakes her head. "Tyler never told me about your baby."

I nod slowly. The baby's gone. I can just feel it. There's this part of my heart that hurts for some reason. I don't know if it was from what happened with Steve, being asleep for however long I was asleep for, or just because of me. And I'll most likely never know.

"Is he ok? Tyler?"

Maranda sighs. "I'm not sure. For the longest time he would tell me about you, telling me how much I'd love you, promising me I'd get to meet you when you woke up. But then recently he lost hope. He came by as usual, chatted with me like always, then he left saying he'd come back the next day with the kids. He did come, but I didn't get a chance to talk with him. Right around the time he usually talks with me, he wasn't here. He was never the same after that day. I'm pretty sure his sister, his cousin, and his father-in-law all came down. But he wouldn't talk to any of them. He'd still talk to me, but there was just something off about him."

Maranda sighs. "Not to scare you or anything, but you were asleep for a very long time Raven. On Wednesday, tomorrow, they were going to pull the plug on your oxygen. No one thought you were going to wake up."

No wonder Wyatt said it was now or never. I wonder how long I was out for, it must have been a long time, but how long was it exactly?

"He came to see you today, he skipped our usual chat. Just came to talk to you, then he left."

I clear my throat, and look straight ahead at the wall. "So I gather he visited me a lot?"

"Oh yes. He came everyday since you went into your coma. For the first week, he wasn't even allowed in your room, he'd sit by your door watching you through your window. He snuck in once, to stay with you overnight, but he got caught and got banded from seeing you for a day. So he came to see me, but actually he just sat outside your room the whole time."

I smile and shake my head. "Sounds just like Tyler. What about you? Are you in a relationship?"

Maranda grins. "I am. I'm married to the biggest jerk in the world. He's such a jerk he got in a fight with my doctor and is now banned from the hospital for a month."

I can imagine Tyler doing the same thing. "Tell me about him."

Maranda starts telling me all out her husband, and he reminds me so much of Tyler. We're definitely going to have to go on a double date once we're both better.

Well...? Like it tic tacs??
As of right now only one person chose a number when I asked y'all to pick 1 or 2 several chapters ago. Anyway, option 1 was Raven never woke up and she died. Option 2 was she didn't die. And that wonderful person picked 2. Thanks for that girl (😉) I really didn't want Raven to die.

Peace out tic tacs!✌️
