Tyler's pov:

"Christian, River, Wyatt, and Keely made these Mother's Day cards for you. Amelia and I helped them. I'll put these on the windowsill so you can look at them." I say as I set the cards they made on the windowsill right next to Raven's hospital bed. Next to the anniversary cards from the kids and the one from me.

"I got you a gift, but I want you to open it yourself. So I'll just put it with the cards." I set the gift down, next to my unopened anniversary gift. "Geez Rae, you're getting quite the collection of presents here."

I laugh sadly to myself. "You really need to wake up hun. They wanna stop keeping you alive. I keep telling them to wait, because you're gonna wakeup. But it's been like 3 months. I don't think I can hold them off anymore. So it'd be great if you could wakeup. Or at least show a sign that you're still here."

Silence. That's what's filled these one sided conversations I have with Raven. There's been studies saying how people in comas can hear you. So I like to think Raven really can hear me.

I grab the book I've been reading to Raven for the past three months and read this week's chapter. I have no idea if she'd actually like the book, but I think she does like it.

After I read to her, I tell her all about what's happened today. All while playing music in the background. Music is good for the soul.

I tell Raven the latest drama with my one coworker who's currently in their midlife crisis.

"Well, it's 11pm now. I really don't want to leave, but visiting hours are over and I don't want to get kicked out again. I love you sugarplum. When you wake up I'll let you get the latest model phone. To replace the one he broke. I knew you were upset about that. Bye love." I kiss Raven's forehead, and head out like every night.

Tomorrow the kids get to come see Rae. I only let them come once a week because I don't like them seeing Raven like this. But I still want them to see their mom in case she... well you know. But Raven will be fine. She'll wakeup in no time.

I pass by Maranda's room, and have a quick chat with her.

"How've you been Maranda?"

"Oh you know. The same as when you asked me yesterday."

"Ok, how's Thomas?" Thomas is her son.

"He's still getting into trouble at school. Typical teenaged boys. You'll know soon enough. So how's Raven?"

I shrug. I met Maranda at the cafeteria in the hospital, where I'll sometimes get lunch while visiting Raven during Sundays. Maranda has liver cancer and about 7 more months to live according to her doctor. But she doesn't let that slow her down.

"Still asleep. I'm not sure if I can keep them doctors from stopping her treatment. I'm slowly loosing hope that she'll wake up." I say truthfully.

"Well too bad. Because you promised me I'd get to meet your lovely wife, so she'll have wake up for me. She can't say no to a dying lady."

I shake my head. "What would I do without you Maranda?"

Maranda shrugs. "Probably become some grouchy old man."

"Well I should get going before I'm kicked out again. See you tomorrow Maranda."

Maranda waves bye as I walk away. I stop by the vending machine in the hall, and buy a honey bun.

I stop by the receptionist for this floor. "Hey Gloria, I didn't see you earlier." I say as I give her the honey bun.

"Oh, I had to fill in for the receptionist for the psych ward. They had a situation. But it's all good now."

"That's good."

Gloria nods. "Yeah. Oh, you bringing the kids tomorrow?"

I nod. "Yeah, they've been dying to see Rae again."

Gloria sighs. "It's a shame really. I'm praying for you, your family, and Raven. Just so you know."

"Thank you Gloria. See you tomorrow."

"Bye Tyler! Get some sleep too! You need it!" Gloria yells as I'm get on the elevator. I chuckle as wave bye.

I come here so regularly it's hard not to make a couple friends. Even once Raven's better I'll have to keep coming down to see these lovely ladies. And bring a fully healed Raven with me.

As I'm leaving, a certain family catches my eye. So I go over to them.

"Everything ok guys?" I ask.

"Jon had a small fever. They're still running tests." Hailey, Jon's mother says.

"I'm sure he'll be fine Hailey. Jon's a strong boy. You know that."

Hailey nods. "Yeah, he is a fighter."

Jon is a 10yr. old boy with leukemia. I met him the same way I met Maranda.

"Well, I'm bringing the kids in tomorrow. So maybe they could play together for a little bit if Jon's up for it."

"I'm sure he will want to play with them. He loves the boys. Just as long as they play safely."

"Of course."

Hailey's 15yr. old daughter, Eleanor, stands up. "Want me to watch Keely for you again?"

I've payed Eleanor to watch Keely for me a couple times while the boys and I were with Raven. Keely is fine to chill with us, but after a while she'll get bored.

"Sure. As long as it's fine with your mom." I say smiling at Eleanor.

"It's fine with me. How it Rae by the way?"

"She's fine. And by fine she's still in a coma. But she'll be ok."

"I'm sure she will be ok."

I nod. "Yeah... Want me to wait with you guys while you wait for the tests to finish with Jon?"

"Oh no, it's fine Tyler. You look like you need your rest. But we'll definitely see you tomorrow."

"I'll make sure of it. Bye guys!" They all wave bye as I finally leave the hospital.

As I'm leaving, I look up to the window of Raven hospital room, and see the cards and presents sitting on the windowsill. I can't wait until I can finally hear her voice again.

Hey tic tacs. I know this chapter was probably a bit boring. But I decided to write a calmer chapter after all the craziness in the last few chapters. Hopefully you agree with the calmer chapter. If not I'm sorry.

Have a good day/night. Bye!
