in which you introduce Sadie to your family

"Trust me, they'll love you," you assured the redhead as she stared at your childhood home. The two of you were still in the car and had been sitting there for nearly fifteen minutes as your girlfriend attempted to calm her nerves.

"Okay, I'm ready," she huffed before clambering out of the car, rushing to the passenger's side to open your door for you. You giggled at her act of chivalry, which she's been doing ever since the two of you began to date.

As you walked up the driveway, you grabbed the girl's hand, feeling her shake slightly in your grip. She threw you a small smile, but you knew that she was trying to cover the anxious feeling that was running through her body.

She was the one to knock on the front door after much encouragement. There was a beat of silence before the door was whipped open and your mother stood on the other side of it, wiping her hands on her apron.

"Y/N! Sadie!" she exclaimed as though she wasn't expecting you at this exact time. She pulled you in for a hug before doing the same to Sadie and ushering the pair of you into the house. As the redhead marveled at the sight of family pictures and photos of you as a child, you took her coat, hanging it up alongside yours. "It's so great to finally meet you! Y/N talks about you all the time."

You blushed as your girlfriend responded. "It's lovely to meet you as well, Mrs. Y/L/N. You have a beautiful home." Your mother waved her off as she walked back down the hall and towards the kitchen.

"Make yourselves at home, girls!" she called as she went back to making dinner.

"You talk about me all the time, huh?" Sadie teased, knocking your shoulder with hers lightly. You shoved her softly, smiling.

"Shut up. Now you get to meet the big guy." Her grin fell through the floor as she remembered that she'd have to meet your father. You had talked about the man as though he created the world just for you, and she didn't want to disappoint you.

You lead her through the house, pointing out your favorite pictures of yourself and photos of old pets. You stopped in the doorway of the living room, beaming as you saw your father asleep on his arm chair, the TV playing some football game in front of him.

"Dad!" you shouted, and he shot awake. He looked dazed for a moment before his eyes found you, and he immediately stood up, wrapping you in his arms with a smile.

"You're home!" he cheered, pulling away, before glancing towards Sadie.

"Dad, this is Sadie. Sadie, my father," you said, watching nervously as your girlfriend stuck her hand out for your father to take. He stared at her, eyes narrowed, eyebrows furrowed, lips drawn into a frown. You could practically feel the anxiety radiating from the redhead, but it dissipated once your father chuckled, pulling the girl in for a hug just like your mother did.

"You should've seen your face, kid!" the man laughed once he let go of Sadie. She giggled nervously, glancing towards you for help.

"Right, I'm gonna show her my bedroom," you stated, smiling as you tugged on the girl's hand to pull her from the living room.

"Door open!" your father shouted after the two of you, and you gave him a thumbs up before dragging your girlfriend up the stairs and towards your childhood bedroom.

"This is so...you," the redhead said as soon as she stepped through the door, looking around the room. There were polaroid photos of you and a few friends, artwork scattered along the walls, and a couple of band posters in the spaces that were left.

"I'll take that as a compliment," you laughed, wrapping your arms around your girlfriend's waist. Your head rested on her shoulder, and she shuddered at the feeling of your warm breath on her neck. She turned in your arms, facing you with a grin.

"Of course it's a compliment," Sadie giggled, wrapping her own arms around your neck. She pulled you in for a kiss, lips intertwining easily and familiarly.

"I told you they'd love you," you stated as you parted for air.

"You were right." She kissed you again. "And I love you."

"I love you, too, Sades."
