Pitch walked in the next morning. His rest had calmed him down ever so slightly, the rememberance of the power he had over the three spirits bringing a smile to his cold grey face. As long as he had Ilia, he would have Death too. As long as he had Jack, winter wouldnt happen. They were weak, helpless to him. And he loved it. The tall, black robed man strode back into his throne room, one eyebrow raising at the scene. "How sweet.." he muttered heartlessly, sarcasticly. Ilia was hugging Grey's arm like a pillow, resting her head on his shoulder. The grim either didnt seem to feel it or didnt care, his own eyes closed and slashed chest risinf up and down slowly shakily. Jack was right at Ilia's side, his own eyes closed with peace, not fear. Where were the nightmares, Pitch wondered. Shouldnt they have been there, leaking into each of the exposed minds of their broken forms, shattering them mentally without them even knowing it? He growled. He hated it when children had comfort in their minds as they dozed, it was like a brick protective wall against his fearlings' raids. Now all three of them protected each other. Part of Pitch was amused, part of him was annoyed.. and the last part was jealous. Why could they have someone to hold..? Even Death himself could have someone who would love him, who would want to be near him. It wasnt fair.. Snap out of it, he thought, shaking his head and forcing his calm, collected look back on his thoughtfilled face. Grey was still all out restrained, Ilia had a collar that Pitch could work with.. now it was left to Jack. They boy was healing unaturally fast, and though Pitch was unsure on whether he was just imagining or not, he wouldnt take a chance. The nightmare king flicked his wrost and three fearlings rushed forward, locking a single, unchained cuff around the winter spirit's right wrist. It had a small open ring for a chain if Pitch needed to put one there. Simple. The dark man honestly only saw Grey as a threat. The glare he kept up after a full out beating.. his determination was brilliant. Brilliantly annoying. Pitch paced gracefully enough across the floor, wrapping a cold arm around the warm stomach of the young girl, bringing his other hand around to cover her mouth as those blazing green eyes snapped open with surprise. She struggled, shouted muffled cries, but the reaper didn't wake up. A few hundred years without sleep got you tired beyond tired when you did. Pitch had heard that before somewhere though he couldnt spot it. He shh-ed Ilia, his pointed nails digging slightly into the bruise on her cheek, causing one last faint whimper before hushing. Once he was far enough away from her protector, he whispered into her ear, still walking down the dark winding hallways. "Pet.." he was taken by surprise as he was interupted by the small young voice. "I'm no pet." This drove his anger up by far, the man stopped dead in his tracks and turned her to face him wjth a glare. Her eyes sligtly showed fear but sill glowed with a hopeful determination. "So Grey Loss' little 'I'm so strong' act has reached you, has it? You want to be like your 'big brother'?" He growled quietly. "You wont ever see him again. You're an animal and will be treated as such, a beast that needs to be tames before it grows to be the reckless broken monster that man is. You. Are. Mine. All of you, including the reaper. So dont get so cocky into thinking you're safe with him around." Without another word, Pitch walked on, leaving Ilia's eyes wider than before. 'You wont ever see him again' echoed through her head, heart filling with a sense of hopelessness before she shoved the feeling out the window. She wouldnt be controlled like this.. She would see Death, she would see him tonight, they would escape with her, him, and the snowboy she had quickly accepted as a friend. Pitch wouldnt stop her.. she wasnt some animal.. and she would prove it.
