Sorry this update is so horribly late. I've been behind in school and need to catch up badly.. leaving me with very little time. My writing skills have sort of dropped without practice though and I forgot some of what happened in this story so I might be a little off with how people act and all, but I'm gonna try anyways. The next few chapters will be shorter and less detailed until I get the feeling back but I'll try to update as often as I can, defiantly not wait that long again. Thank you for your patience and for reading ^^'

Jack's bare feet grazed upon the hardwood floors of the pole, blue eyes focused on the ground and pale hands in the pocket of his jacket, a new, clean one that Tooth had brought him with excitement the other day. She had worked hard to find a blue jacket that near perfectly resembled the former one before it was torn and bloodstained beyond washing, sewing on the intricate frost like pattern herself. She had been working harder lately, not just in her teeth collecting either. Tooth was nonstop flying around. If she wasn't at the pole, she was out doing her job. If she wasn't there, she was in the huge homey building cleaning or helping out in any way she could, barely getting sleep until her bright purple eyes wouldn't stay open. It was a little concerning for Jack to watch her overwork herself like she had been, about to ask her to cool down and take a break, but his conscious said otherwise. "Shes probably working so hard to distract herself from the stress. Let her do as she is, if she breaks down or anything, then you should talk to her." Since the voice that had started popping into the back of his head was usually always right, he did as told and left the fairy alone. So the winter spirit walked on through the halls mindlessly. The Pole didn't look that big from the outside but on the inside, it was huge, and Jack rarely saw anyone passing through the halls other than maybe some yetis and the silly mindless elves that danced around, giggling in some strange language. The winter spirit spent most of his free time those next few days poking at the little things as they ran, teasing and tricking them most of the time for his own mindless entertainment. It was bad enough that North didn't want him going out on his own.. after all, it WAS nearing summertime. he had nothing to do and with Pitch back up and running and wanting him dead, it wasn't too much of a good idea to walk out the door. He would've anyways, why not? But he cared what North thought, he didn't want to upset the older man, so he stayed back with disappointment of the bores of every normal day.

"Hey, snowy, watch where you're walkin. Damn near bumped into me." The voice brought Jack's white haired head up from its focus on the ground, his thoughts shattering as he fell back into the growingly depressing reality. There in front of him was that girl from before, the groundhog woman, Jayna. She was leaning against the wall but wasn't much anywhere near him, a few feet away. "Doesn't look like it," he retorted, bringing his usually lightening smile back to his face. The fur covered woman smiled as he did, seeing he wasn't depressed or anything like everyone else had seemed to be as she rose from her place. "Its been too long and we're livin' in the same house," she laughed, shaking her head. Jack seemed a little surprised; she had been staying there? It sort of brought a guilty feeling that he hadn't even known about it. She seemed to catch on to his confusion and shook her head with a small quiet chuckle. "Ah, no, not livin' here. I just come over much more than before, guess it feels sorta like home now, 'f that makes sense." Overall, it did. Even Jack, after being kicked out so many times by the yetis, found the Pole to be like a home to him even on his first few times being there. It was warming, everyone was, well usually, happy, and everyone was merrily working and supporting each other. Plus the outside was beautiful in the winter spirit's opinion, constant cold and snowfall even through the hot summers that were coming their way. Bunnymund hated it, complaining on how "freaking freezing" it was when he had to hop out but otherwise, to Jack it was a good place to have a home. "An'ways.. the little fox girl and the cape guy came back. He's got your staff, thought i'd tell ye.” This drew the bright blue eyes back to attention for good, his mouth opening in the smile that would always light up the room when he graced everyone with it. Grey and Ilia got the staff back so quickly? Ilia had only come in that morning. Jack smiled even brighter in relief before waving to the figure in front of him. “I’m going to go see them, thanks for the help!”
