Just wanted to say this in advance. Often times I forget where I cut someone in this if they get hurt. So if I say someone had a cut on their right shoulder, then accidentally say that it was on the left, please bear with me ^^''
Tooth's bright purple eyes flickered open to the faded light of dawn peeking through the window of the infirmary. She had forgotten to close the blinds as she always did and a sudden feeling of small panic swished through her, only to be relieved now that she saw the spirits fast asleep even with the light shining on them. Grey, his long black hair falling in front of his face and his hand clenching slightly to the pillow beneith his head, Ilia, hugging the soft tail that was attatched to her very lower back, and... where was Jack? His blankets were untucked, pillow still dented near the middle, his staff that had been by his bedside gone. She shook her head. Maybe, now that he could stand, Jack had came back to sleep and left to go walk around again when he woke up. The fairy was surprised his movements hadn't woken her up, she WAS in the chair right by his bed after all and wasn't that heavy of a sleeper. Maybe Jack was just too quiet and she just a little too tired. The hummingbird hybrid smiled, standing and giving a small voiced stretch before fluttering over to check on the others. The sun was just barely shining through the window, not bright enough to be day and definatally not dark enough to be night. The clear morning skies in the arctic shone as well, giving the light a whitish tint to illuminate the room. First, Tooth found her way to Ilia. The light shone best on the girl, making her look so relaxed.. peaceful. Her slightly messy straight hair was parted just so it wasn't in her face, those beautiful big lidded eyes closed gently in a peaceful sleep. Sandy had come in to help the two spirits sleep while Jack was walking around. Apparentally, this time, his magic worked. Her skin was clear, fair and the soft white fur of her strange fox-like ears and tail glowed in a white almost angelically. She looked so innocent, both awake and asleep.. Tooth wondered why the other guardians had never seen it before. Just a child.. having been left out in the world on her own to fend for herself. She did have Grey though. But... Tooth didn't want to judge, but Grey didn't seem like someone that would be too enjoyable to be around twenty four seven. Though she had seen how he held onto the child even when he passed out, it was too strange to see someone who appeared to be so dark and quiet with someone who was like pure light and innocence. Opposites practically.. it was strange. Her tail was in her hands, held close to her like a blanket or a toy that any child would hold in the night for comfort. Tooth's delicate hand couldn't help but reach out and touch the fluff lightly. It was so soft, softer than anything the fairy had ever felt, warm as a summer morning's breeze and more comfortable than any blanket could be. Tooth gave a gentle smile as the girl gave a slightly heavier breath but didn't awaken. Ilia's bandages had small specks of blood on them but nothing horrible like when the two had come in, the bandages not being able to stay white for longer than a minute before the horrid red liquid would soak the fabric to turn into the deep color. Now she seemed alright, the bruise on her cheek and arms being the only wounds that were really not covered but even the blackish blue colors of those were starting to fade slightly to yellow, healing slowly but steadily.
Once deeming Ilia as safe, Tooth looked to the only other occupied bed. At least Ilia had found time to remove her vest, shoes, and socks. Grey lay above the sheets, using his torn red cloak as his only blanket, fully dressed. Even the black boots were still laced on his feet as he slept, knees pulled slightly up to make him seem a little more human, at least without the blood red eyes that deemed him otherwise. His 'perfect' hair was now rustled up, falling over his face unlike Ilia's had, his hands in slight fists. The fairy felt slightly scared to approach him.. but still, he was a guest just as Ilia was. You need to trust him. And she would.
As she neared him, she started to lose the nervousness that was working on her before. He didn't seem THAT bad.. though he was still wearing the intemindating clothing, he slept just as peacefully, the blank look he had every time Tooth looked at him was replaced with something peaceful. It was a nice change.. he didn't seem so empty, sad. Unlike Ilia, his wounds were still oozing just slightly, a few of the bandages finding their way to turn a solid red. Tooth wasn't a medic but she was better and much more sensitive and patient than the others, maybe excepting Sandy, but it wasn't quite morning yet and the golden man was still out working. She gave a small sigh before reaching forward and pulling off the now soaked red fabric, wincing as the coppery liquid rubbed off on her fingers. Before she had seen him she wouldn't have believed that Death himself could bleed, could sleep, could even breathe. The thought of it was abnormal but here he was. Sleeping, breathing... and sure as anything bleeding. He winced slightly as her hand grazed a wound while she pulled off another bandage but he didn't awaken, eyes just squeezing shut then lowering back to their peaceful form from before. Replacing the old bandages with clean new ones, Tooth watched the man quietly as he slept. He looked so.. normal. Sure it felt rude of her to think. Everyone was somebody at heart, even Pitch Black who she was so angry at.. everybody had a reason for who they were. Which means the seemingly coldhearted, inteminating and powerful Grey Loss also had a heart that beat somewhere in the emptiness of his bruised chest. The hummingbird hybrid knew that Grey had to have more wounds under the cape's cover, so she pushed it aside as slowly as she could, glad that it wasn't nearly as cold inside as it was outdoors in the freezing tundra. The reaper didn't awaken, just gave a small sigh in his sleep. Something was off though, Tooth noticed. His clothes were obviously torn up with all of the slashes beneith them.. but his left sleeve was completely ripped off. That wasn't what bothered her though... Tooth gave a quick gasp as her eyes locked onto the black letters on his shoulder, scarring over to the darkened color. "PITCH IS MY KING." ((Unsure if Tooth saw the scar or not so _ _ assuming she didn't. I really need to keep up more with what im writing @.@ im so dead lately..)) Was this a tattoo..? Had Death really put this here on his shoulder? No.. he wouldn't have.. but.. would he? Tooth didn't know him well enough to tell, though no other deep black marks were on his skin and those marks looked a lot more like scars than ink. She lowered her hand and ran her fingers lightly over the words... they were rigged, bumpy and sticking out from the rest of his soft pale skin. Grey gave a stir and she pulled her hand back quickly, scared to wake him. No.. those words were too jagged for anything that was supposed to be appealing and were made from scars, not ink.. Then the thought appeared in her head. Had Pitch done this to him? The nightmare king had cut him up, bruised him and Ilia and Jack... so it was definatally possible. She was horrified that Pitch would do something so horrible.. scar someone with works. She couldn't imagine the pain of having some sort of blade being dragged thorugh your skin deep enough to scar over so deeply. Death had expirienced this... and little did she know, Jack just had seconds before she awoke, somewhere far away in the darkness of Pitch's lair.
He gave a small groan, his eyes opening on their own. He wanted to go back to sleep the second he awoke. Pitch had thrown him into nightmares, the guardians dying, him being here tortured forever.. that monster from the night before appearing in each and every one of them, growling quietly before he faded to the next horrible dream, over and over again. He wanted sleep, actual sleep, not torment after torment. Jack's arm burned and stung like acid had been poured over it, his back's touching the cold floor causing him to jerk every time it grazed the ground. It hurt so bad.. Pitch wasn't in the room and the restraints had been lowered to allow Jack to lay on the ground. At least the nightmare king was kind enough to let Jack have his torturous sleep in peace, the teen mumbled in his head, snow white hair having fallen in front of his face with his tossing and turnings. Still though, his arms and legs were cuffed and chained to the hard stone wall, his body too weak and distraught to even allow him to stand. He just wanted to pass out for good this time.. no nightmares, there was no chance of dreams as long as Sandy didn't know he was here.. he just wanted an empty sleep. But his eyes wouldnt close. Jack's mind wondered back to the guardians back home. Did they notice he was gone? Were they worried? Jack was so used to just vanishing for a while to explore.. now he regretted that. They probably thought he was just playing around outside somewhere. But no.. he was locked here in this hell.. lost. The only thing worst about this time than the last was this time he was completely alone.
