Luke's POV
"Goodnight ya'll! Thanks for having me out! I hope to see everyone on the road again!" I chanted into the microphone.
We were at the Houston Rodeo and I was so exhausted. Running from the center days to the outer boundaries where the fans were killed me. I picked my hat up and slicked back my hair. As I limped back to the bus, Mark stopped me.
"Hey, Luke, there's someone here to see you. She said it's no rush."
"Um, okay," I hesitated, "tell them to come on back after I'm done with my shower. Just let them onto the bus in about ten minutes."
Mark nodded his head. "sure will." he continued walking back towards the arena.
I shook my head. Who wanted to see me? Mark said "she'" specifically. I just hope it's not one of those special types of fans who act like they're here to talk about something important. Or even worse, a reporter. I was in no mood for that whatsoever.
As I took my shower, I replayed the memories of Caroline and I in my head.
"Luke, where are we going? We are out in the middle of nowhere!" Caroline giggled as she scooted closer to me.
"I put my arm around her. "Exactly, out in the middle of nowhere is where we are headed. You'll see when we get there. Now," I rolled the window down, "why don't you crawl back over there and roll the window down and then open the back one. We can roll to where we need to be with the windows down."
"Mmkay." She smiled and scootched back over.
"Besides, I like it when the wind whips through your hair. It makes you look even more gorgeous."
Caroline smirked. "And I look sexy with your hat on backward too."
I laughed as she took my hat and put it on her head, flipping it backward. She was so adorable. This girl made me smile and laugh and I was never letting her go.
I pulled into a field and noticed a small bonfire was already lit. I had asked my buddy to come start one before we got here. I backed my truck up close to the fire. Not too close, but close enough to feel it's warmth from my tailgate.
"Stay here, babe." I kissed her forehead.
I grabbed the blankets, my guitar, and a radio from the back. I went around the back and grabbed the cooler out from the bed. Fluffing up the blankets, I threw them onto the tailgate. Then, I set up the radio so it was softly playing the local country station.
"Okay, Caroline, you can come out now!" I hollered.
The truck door slammed and Caroline emerged. Her figure was barely illuminated by the firelight, but just enough to where I could see her fluctuated curves and blonde hair as the glow danced about her face. She was breathtakingly gorgeous.
She covered her face with her hands and gasped. "'This is just perfect, Luke!"
I walked to her and pulled her to me and wrapped my arms around her as I rested my head on her shoulders. "You're also perfect," I whispered.
"I'm not perfect. I'm actually far from it," She whispered back.
Rubbing my hands up and down her arms, I began to sway. "All that matters is that you're absolutely perfect for me and I wouldn't have it any other way."
