August 7th, 2015

New York

It was August 7th and we were in New York for Luke's album, Kill The Lights, release and a Good Morning America concert as well as other interviews which I would be joining Luke for. Brooke had brought along Derrick.

Brooke was now 8 and a half months pregnant and I was two months as of yesterday. My pregnancy was moving along just fine, but as for Brooke... well I couldn't say the same. In July, she went for an ultrasound and found something not so good. The doctor found an amniotic band floating around. The doctor informed her that if the band attaches around a limb, the baby could be born with deformities such as webbed fingers if wrapped around a hand or if wrapped around a leg, a stubbed leg. The worst case scenario would be if it wrapped around the umbilical cord, which could result in the death of the baby. Brooke was heart broken as I would be. She had done nothing wrong to cause it either. It wouldn't effect her which was good. They had checked over and over again to make sure it was in fact ABS and not just a uterine fold, but with no such luck.

I smiled as Luke came running off stage, taking his ear piece out as he approached Brooke, Derrick, and I.

"Wow that was amazing." He breathed.

I grinned. "The fans loved it. This is going to be your best selling album yet." I smoothed a wrinkle out of Luke's shirt. "I'd give you a hug but you're all sweaty. You need to get your ass back to the hotel and take a shower."

Luke smirked. "Maybe I should just hug you anyways. You know you like it."

I glared at him. "Thomas, I swear, if you hug me you'll never hear the end of it."

Luke just chuckled and turned to Derrick, nodding his head to acknowledge his presence. Luke held out his hand and Derrick accepted, bringing him in for a bro hug. "Hey, man, has Brooke been a handful? I know Caroline has and she's only two month into this."

I scoffed and smacked his arm. "Whatever,"

I looked at Brooke who seemed dazed, off in her own dimension, not paying any attention. I snapped my fingers in her face and laughed as she shot her head up. "What, oh hey."

I shook my head. Oh my, this woman, I tell ya. Love her to death but sometimes she was completely lost.

"Did you even hear Luke?"

"Huh, no." Her eyes lit up. "But I was thinking about how good mint ice cream sounded."

"Well have Derrick take you to get ice cream and Luke and I will meet you sometime later. We've got a few interviews to do anyways." I said.

Brooke nodded and turned to Derrick. "Did you hear that? Caroline volunteered you to buy me ice cream so that's where we're headed."

Derrick crossed his arms. "Well thanks Caroline. I appreciate it." He said sarcastically.

I put two thumbs up. "Anytime."

I shook my head as I watched them walk away, Derrick kissing the top of Brooke's head. They soon disappeared into the crowd of people on the sidewalk, bustling everywhere, coffee in hand. A gust of wind blew my hair a mess and I tucked a strand behind my ear.

"C'mon, babe. Let's go back to our hotel room." Luke mumbled, wrapping his arm around my waist.

I placed my hand over my chest and leaned into him. "Good gosh, Luke. You scared the bajeebas outta me."

He chuckled. "Sorry, sweetheart."

"It's alright. And I'll take you up on that offer to go back to the hotel."
