I woke up to the sound of a blaring car horn. I rubbed my eyes. So much for a nice morning. I turned on my side and noticed Luke wasn't there. I immediately sat up, feeling panic rush through me. I scanned the room and noticed Luke sitting on the sofa, coffee cup in hand, staring aimlessly out the window. I took a deep breath, feeling my self relax. The once panicked feeling was replaced with sympathy and heart break as I realized Luke was crying. What really killed me was that he was crying silently, not making a peep.

I threw the covers off of me and swung my legs over the side of the bed, slipping into my slippers. I quickly shuffled over to Luke and felt my heart shatter into millions of pieces. Luke's face was red and puffy with dark circles under his eyes showing a man that had been crying for hours. Luke looked up at me as I approached with no expression and went back to staring out the window. I sat down on the couch and rubbed his back.

"Oh Luke, honey it's alright." I soothed.

Luke looked at me and turned away just as quickly.

"No, it's not." He whispered. Luke shook his head and buried his face in the palms of his hands. "I don't want you to see me like this."

Luke inhaled sharply, trying to regain his composure with no such luck.

"I feel so weak, so...powerless. I'm supposed to be the strong one of the two of us, and what am I doing? I'm wallowing away all of my emotions in this cup of coffee." Luke took a hesitant sip of his coffee. "Cold cup of coffee."

I grabbed his cup from his hands and set it on the coffee table in front of us.

"Come here," I said, opening my arms.

Luke accepted my embrace and just melted in my arms. He was there for me when I needed someone to do this for me so I'm going to be that person as well.

"It's okay to feel like that sometimes. I don't blame you. You're going through a lot more than I am even if we're facing this together. Luke, look at me." I said quietly.

Luke let go of me and sat back, looking at me as i had asked.

"Babe, you don't always have to be the strong man of the house. It's okay to let out these feelings and concede to them. It proves that you're a real person."

Luke nodded his head. "I'm sorry."

I moved closer to him and leaned against his side, interlacing our fingers. "There's absolutely nothing to be sorry about. You didn't bring this upon yourself. Just promise me that you'll come to me next time."

"I promise." He whispered.

"Good. Now why don't you go get showered and dressed. We're heading back home to our babies tonight."

That got a smile out of Luke. I smiled myself seeing that once familiar cheesy grin return to his face.

But Caroline had completely forgotten about what she had remembered last night. Was it key information to get them out of this mess?

Luke and I stepped off his private jet and headed to his truck with Kerri beside him. Jamie was in front of us and Rick was trailing just behind us. We all got into the truck and got comfortable before Kerri spoke up.

"Let's go to Caroline's house before picking up the boys. I mean, just to be safe and all, you know?"

Luke pulled onto the highway. "I know."

The drive to my house was silent. I swear you could hear a pin drop if you listened close enough.

We pulled up our driveway and began the semi long drive up to the house. I covered my mouth and felt myself gasp aloud, tears streaming down my face. I jumped out of the truck and ran to the house.

"No, no, no, no. Luke!" I screamed. As I fell to my knees.

Luke came running up to me and pulled me into a tight hug.

"Shh, it could have been worse." He soothed.

Across the front of the house in big black letters was "Watch your back Luke" . All of my flowers were pulled up from the ground and strewn around the yard. The windows had been cracked an the door kicked in. How the hell didn't the alarm go off?

"911," Kerri said. "Yah we have an emergency..."
