Luke's house
6:30 p.m
"Baby, are you almost ready?" I hollered at Caroline in the direction of our room.
"Just a minute. For the fifth time, don't rush me." She laughed. "What's the hurry for anyways? We're just going out on the town tonight."
I smirked, knowing that there was more in store than just "a night out on the town." I should probably tone my excitement done just a bit, I didn't want her to get suspicious.
"I'm sorry, it's just that it's been so long since we had a nice night alone together. I guess I'm just eager to spend time with you, that's all."
I walked over to the table against the wall in the family room, looking over every picture that was displayed proudly. But one picture in particular always caught my eye. It wasn't the one with my parents at Mama's party two years ago or the one of the band and I hanging out backstage. It was the one of my family. Caroline, Bo, Tate, Til, and I were all posing for a picture in the back yard. It was just this past summer at a huge barbecue we hosted.I smiled, thinking back to that day.
"Caroline, round up the boys! Lets take a picture together!" I hollered at her, getting up from the chair on the patio.
Caroline nodded and began to go find everyone. I scanned everyone who had showed up, finally locating Monaco. I whistled then called his name. "Monaco come take this picture, would ya?"
He shot me a thumbs up, running to go get Caroline's camera that was inside. I saw Caroline headed my way with the boys. I guess they weren't too happy we had taken them away from their Nerf Gun war, they had smug looks on their faces.
"All of you get the chip off of your shoulders now. It's just a quick family shot." I said as Monaco approached us, ready to take the shot.
We all stood together, smiling wide at the camera. The boys began to run off again before Monaco called them back. "Wait! That wasn't a good one. Let's retake it."
I could hear the boys' moans and groans as they trudged back. Monaco bursted out laughing. "I was just kidding. Go play."
I pulled Caroline into my side, grinning at the sight of the boys and knowing my life couldn't get any better than it was right now.
I smiled slightly, realizing we need to take another one soon. Ava wasn't in this one. She hadn't even been born yet. I gently put the picture down and turned around to see Caroline walking into the room. I was in awe, she wasn't too dolled up, yet she had this beauty to her that no one else could begin to have.
She blushed, making her way up to me. She playfully hit me in the arm. "Quit that."
"Quit what?"
"Looking at me like that. You're looking at me like I put the stars in the sky or something."
I chuckled pulling her close to me. "Honey, you're gorgeous. I can't believe I get to call a woman like you mine. That's why I always look at you like that."
I saw a rosy blush rise in her cheeks yet again. She blushed so easily and it was so dang adorable. I chuckled.
"I love you."
She smiled up at me, leaning in for a kiss. "I love you too."
We kissed quickly before pulling away.
"Let me make a quick phone call before we head out." I said, heading to the front door.
I pulled out my phone once I was outside and made sure Caroline couldn't hear me. I dialed BM's number and waited. He picked up almost instantly.
