Caroline's POV
The birds were chirping as I woke up. I glanced at the clock. It was 8:30 am. The early bird does get the worm. I thought as I noticed a robin sitting on the deck outside of the sliding glass doors in our room.
I smiled as I felt an arm wrap around me and pull me close. As Luke pulled me close, I felt more than just his arm on me. His warm skin hit mine as I realized we were both still naked from last night. We had taken our soaked clothes and undergarments off on the porch. I decided to go wash our clothes. I carefully tried to wiggle out of Luke's grasp. It was no use. He just held on tighter but moved his hand up so he was now grabbing my boob. I quietly laughed knowing that he was still asleep. I guess I had to wake him.
"Luke," I sighed, "it's time to wake up."
That didn't do any good. I could still hear his light snores as he moved his head into the crook of my neck.
I groaned. "Luke, you need to wake up. You're manhandling my boob."
Still nothing. I decided to use my free hand to trace my fingers down his lower stomach. I kept descending my fingers lower until they were at his manhood. I quickly grasped it and felt him stir. He still wasn't awake fully.
"Dammit, Luther. That should wake any man. You should have felt that." I whispered.
I then felt kisses on my sweet spot.
"Oh, I felt it, Ms. Boyer," Luke growled in a low husky voice.
I quickly jumped up out of the bed and wrapped an end blanket around myself. I didn't want it to go any further. Luke looked up at me with concern.
"Caroline, I-I," he stuttered, "I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable. You could have just told me you didn't want to take that extra step just yet."
"It's okay, you didn't..." I trailed off and went into my walk in closet.
I quickly slipped on some jeans and a tee shirt before going back into the bedroom. I found look right where I had left him- sitting on the edge of the bed, eyeing the floor, writhing his hands. I walked past him, not meeting his eyes, not wanting to or willing to talk about what has been on my mind. Knowing that I shouldn't, I peeked over my shoulder for a second. I mentally kicked myself seeing Luke look at me with such confusion and worry in his eyes.
Luke's POV
This was really concerning me. The fact that she had jumped out of the bed made me feel worse. If she didn't want to take that next big leap of faith with me, she could have said the least. I mean, what was I supposed to think when she just ups and grabs my manhood to take me out of my slumber.
I heard the washer start from the laundry room down the hall and then the screen door rattle shut. I knew something was really bothering her that she hasn't told me about. In college, she would always go and sit outside somewhere to ponder her thoughts.
I got up out of bed and did what Caroline had just done- get dressed and freshen up. I made my way down the hall and into the kitchen. I could hear the bubbling of the coffee pot as it brewed. I opened the cupboard above the pot and lifted two coffee mugs off of the shelf and gently set them onto the counter. I finished pouring two cups of coffee and headed towards the door.
I leaned against the screen door to open it and walked around the porch. I found Caroline sitting on the porch swing looking off into the distances of the hills surrounding us. The sun was just peeking over the horizon, leaving a soft glow over the house and Caroline. If she heard the door squeak and slam shut, she didn't show any signs of it, but I'm sure, she did. I sighed with contentment. If this was how I could wake up every day, it would be like heaven on Earth. But, then, I was brought back to the realization of things. Caroline was upset about something or someone. And it could be me.
