Luke's POV

It was now April and I was very excited! It was the week of the ACMs. Actually, the fiftieth anniversary. Blake and I were hosting again this year. But that's not the only reason I was feeling giddy. I wanted to ask Caroline to come with me. The thing standing in my way was how to ask her. That stumped me. Do I straight up ask her? Or do I take her some place special and ask her? Do I surprise her with a dress and other things and just leave a note saying, Yes? She's smart enough to get the hint on the last one and I've heard that apparently women view that as romantic. Maybe I should go with the last choice...

I was taking Caroline to dinner at Etch, a very expensive restaurant in Nashville, tonight. I insisted I pamper her this one time because it was our one month anniversary. She had been persistent with her opinion of how it wasn't as important as I make it out to be.

"It's only our one month anniversary, Luke. It's not like it's our one year anniversary. Please don't make me doll up. Let's just have a normal dinner with the kids." She had said.

"But it's special to us. You know this. More than ever to me. Do you realize I've been waiting for an eternity just to be able to hold my love in my arms once more? To be able to kiss her lips again and grab her hand before pulling her into a hug. Or even grasping her butt whenever.." Caroline blushed. "It's been forever and you deserved to be pampered. You don't have to necessarily get all dolled up."

Caroline smiled. She grabbed my hand and traced her fingers over my knuckles. "You're the sweetest man I've ever known, Luke," she placed her hands on my chest. Instinctively, I locked my hands behind her back and pulled her closer. "and I've been waiting and waiting, watching the clock tick and the calendar pages be flipped, just waiting for everything to feel right again. It didn't feel right with anyone but you. You're my one and only. Now, that may sound like a cliché, but-"

I hadn't let her go on. I had cut her off with a forceful, passionate kiss. I had felt her kiss back and knew that she was the woman I loved. No matter if she rambled on a lot or not.

I looked towards the stairs, hearing the familiar click of heels. My jaw dropped slightly at the sight of the beautiful woman standing before me. She was wearing a black pant suit looking thing. I'm a guy- give me a break- I don't know what they're called. She also had nude platform pumps and gorgeous earrings and bracelets. She had a purse over her shoulder too.

"How do I look?" She asked.

I grabbed her hand. "Gorgeous, beautiful, stunning. Actually quite blinding to the male species' eye, but I'll warn them that you're mine."

She blushed. "Mmm, cowboy, that I am. Thank you."

I pecked her on this lips and led her to the truck hand in hand. I opened her door and she slid in. I made my way to my side of the truck and started it up.

"You ready, darlin'?"

"Yup, just one question,"

"Ask away." I said, backing out of the drive.

"Where are we going to eat?"

"It's a surprise. I explained this to you earlier and if I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise." I chuckled.

She sighed. "Nonsense, I'll act surprised. I once wanted to become an actress you know."

"You did?" I asked sounding surprised.

"Yes," she responded.

"I would have never guessed." I said, merging onto the highway.

Cars were passing by, unknowing that Luke Bryan was next to them. They just went on with their business, heading to their destinations. I smiled knowing that some of them were with their significant other, feeling the same thing I was at this moment. I smiled and reached across the center console, placing my hand on Caroline's thigh. She picked my hand up and held it. I gently squeezed it, feeling the warmth of her hands.
