ғᴏʀᴄᴇᴅ ᴡᴏʀᴋ"Ran," She looks at his chest up and down, examining the blood. "You're bleeding..?" He shakes his head, standing up. "I killed someone for a mission just now. Coincidentally I saw a dumbass crossing without paying attention to the road." Y/N stands up by her own, brushing off dirt at her back. "Where is your car?" The male asks. "There," She points at the dark parking lot, as Ran follows her finger. "You— parked there?" Y/N nods.
He turns around, taking the lead as he heads to that dark place. "Yo, where are you going?" Y/N runs, trying to catch up with him. He's tall, his legs are so long that when he walks, Y/N has to jog to follow him. "You sure want to go there alone? You couldn't even cross the road alone, and now go there? You won't know what'll come next." Y/N clicks her tongue, rolling her eyes from behind. "You're so noisy."
"Oh yeah? Then go there alone."
"You think I'm scared?"
Y/N grins at him, walking passes him as she hits his shoulder. It's still 1 kilometres until she reaches the car. And it's so dark there. No source of lights. Only cars surrounded by darkness. "Um," She gulps. Y/N glances to the back a few times, seeing Ran's figure is getting smaller in her vision. A shriek sound screams in front of her, causing Y/N to back away with a flinch. "W-W-What the fuck was that?"
She crouches down, takes her phone out and turns the flashlight on. It's a dead mouse. Oh yeah! Why didn't I use the flashlight earlier?! She face palms herself. That was dumb. For not using the opportunity. "Now I'm not scared anymore with this," She stands up proudly, continuing to walk again. She hears weird sounds, yet she ignores them. Must be mice again, that's her opinion.
Until a cold breath hits her neck, with a whistling sound. Ah shit, what's now?! She grips on her phone tighter, breathing in and out. I'm not scared, I'm not scared, I'm not scared. She quickly turns around, flashing the light towards where the whistle comes from. Nothing. Literally nothing. "The wind, maybe." She checks one last time, before wanting to turn around.
She feels a shadow pass by in front of her.
"Argh!" She jumps, feeling weights on her shoulders. "Don't kill me!" She slaps something hard with her phone until the person groans in pain. "You ass! What the hell—" She recognises that voice. The person's holding his knees, wiping the blood off his lips. "I— I thought it was—" She looks around in panic. She has done something stupid and totally wrong. "I-It's your fault too! You scared me!"
"I thought you said you weren't scared!" She gulps. It must be hurtful. She just slaps his face with her phone, hard. "Are— Are you okay?" She bends down, waiting for him to respond. "Do I look so?" Y/N bites her lips, nervous. "Look, I'm really sorry, okay! I thought you were a ghost or something because I swear to god I heard something—"
"That's the effect when you read too many books. You brought the horror into real life." Ran stands up, rubbing his bottom lip. "What are you waiting for? Do you want to experience the horror again?" He glares at her, accompanying the woman to her car. It's extremely awkward. "Does it sting? Does it hurt?" Ran tilts his head a little, finding Y/N's looking down. "What?"
"Your lips. It bleeds." They both walk until Y/N's car can be seen. "Nothing major." She unlocks the car, getting inside it. "You aren't going home tonight, right?" Ran places his arm on the roof of the sports car. "Late at night later." He closes the door, inserting his hands into pockets as he walks away. "Wait!" Y/N slides the window down, hoping he'd stop for her. "What?"
"I— I just..." She grips on the steering wheel tighter. "If you hadn't rescued me I'd be dead," Ran's face is empty, he doesn't give any impression. "So— thank you." The last part, she says it in a whisper, only she can hear it. "What?" The male frowns, raising his eyebrows up. "Thank—" She sighs. It wouldn't work. Saviour or not, he's still her enemy. No enemies are friendly with each other. Because everyone knows, they will feel more towards each other after that.
