"You are such a bad student."

Ran pulls away as he snatches the bowl. "I just teased you, and you are supposed to bear it. What if someone teases you while you're cooking and the whole kitchen will burn?"

He glares at her, before stirring the bowl again. What..? The female is sitting on the kitchen counter, losing in her own thoughts.

What he said just now was meaningless. He didn't mean it. He wasn't even sincere about it. Y/N gets off the counter as she glances at Ran who's taking out the pan. "Here. Cook this." She stares at him for a while before holding the turner he's offering.

Ran pours the rice and egg mixture into the pan, commanding Y/N to flip it over and over using the turner. "Did you even eat anything today? Why are you so weak?"

Ran grabs the turner away from her. "This. You have to do this. Add more energy if you want to cook because after that you'll eat. And as you eat, you add more energy. So what's wrong with using more energy?" He blabbers like her Mother, as Y/N stands far from him. "Then you do it yourself." She undoes the apron, before leaving it on the kitchen counter.

She stomps her feet up the stairs. Doesn't know why, she feels mad. So mad. She thought he praised her. Y/N hates him for making her feel appreciated. He doesn't need to do that if that was only a lie. Y/N opens the door of her bedroom before slamming it closed again.

Thinking about it again, she feels jealous. Jealous of Kina Mihara. Ran must've praised her before. He must've been sincere about the praises. Y/N drops on the ground, as she leans her head against the wall.

She remembers when she was a child, she used to write a book where she wanted to get married, to have children, to have a husband and to have a happy life. She swore to herself by the age of 25 year old, she'd have lived a normal and happy life. Not a life like this.

She was forced to get married to someone she rarely talked to. He has a lover already. As if I'm the barrier to his happiness. Y/N sighs shortly. She herself doesn't understand why she's saying this. Just suddenly it messes with her mind.

"Are you mad or something?"

Ran leans against the door, with a plate in his hand. "Are you mad at me?" Y/N hugs her knees as she buries her face down. "No." The female hugs her knees together tighter, avoiding eye contact with Haitani Ran. "You're lying."

Y/N squints her eyes closed as she hears a sound of the plate making contact with the floor. "Go away." She mumbles slowly while glancing at the plate of fried rice in front of her.

"I can hear your stomach growling." Ran sighs, as he sits almost one metre away from her with the plate now in his hand. "I don't care if you want to kill me now or something but it's kind of my job to make sure your stomach is full."

Y/N's stomach growls again. This time, she slaps it for a moment, hoping it'd stop. "Place that god damn plate on that goddamn floor. I'm not disabled, I can eat on my own."

"Then Mrs. Not disabled, can you eat the food now, in front of me?" The female lets out an annoyed sigh as she looks away from his gaze. "Why should I listen to you?" Y/N bites her lips, waiting for his response.

Haitani Ran picks the plate up, as he leans closer to her from behind. "Look. It won't do." Y/N shifts herself forward while Ran follows her from behind. "You should stop being reluctant."

It shocks her when he touches one of her arms, just to force Y/N to look at him. "If you hate me, then don't make it hard for me to end this faster." He holds the spoon, scooping some of the rice. "Open your mouth." Yes, what he said was true.
