Y/N wakes up with her phone ringing. She lets out a groan before picking the phone up. "Where the fuck are you?" Ran's mad voice yells on the phone. "Somewhere.." She's so sleepy. It's early in the morning. 8am. And he's calling her. "Where the hell is that somewhere?" Y/N groans again before ending the call. She covers her face with a pillow, continuing to sleep again.
And the phone rings for the second time.
"What the fuck do you want?!" Y/N screams at the phone with total anger. "Why didn't you sleep at home?"Y/N clutches on her blanket tightly. Not now. She doesn't want to tell him. No yet. "Let me sleep." Y/N mumbles before ending the call. She has her own reason why she slept at a hotel. Last night a creepy moment has been disturbing her.
Y/N turned around at her closed door. Is it maybe one of the guards? Haitani Rindou? She had no idea. The woman slowly made a step to the door. She decided to bring a book along so if it turned out to be a thief, she could smack its head with it. Y/N calmly walked through the hallway. It was dark. And quiet. She tried her best to not make any sounds of her steps.
She gulped. Couldn't lie, it gave her goosebumps that her hair stands erected. Y/N gripped on the book tighter. She finally stood in front of Ran's room. The place where she heard the sounds came from. Y/N quickly opened the door widely. It would make whatever creature inside shocked. Y/N's hands flew, slammed on the lights buttons. It was finally bright.
Yet nothing was there.
If it was Rindou, why would he hide? If it was a thief, he must've been new with the house and was panicked to find somewhere to hide. Then— this might be the work of someone who had been either living or hiding here for a long time. "Show yourself if you are not a coward." Y/N waited there. No response. Nothing came out. She stepped out of the room. She quickly walked out of the mansion, jogging to the guard house.
"Yes, Maam?" Y/N leaned against the counter, panting. "I want you guys to check all parts of the house. Now. Everywhere. Don't let anything escape." The guards stared at her, startled. "Did something happen, Maam?" Y/N shook her head. "Go. Now." She commanded before some of the guards ran into the mansion.
She waited inside her room, the goosebumps still hadn't faded. "We've checked everything up, Maam." Y/N looked up, biting her lips nervously. "We found nothing, Maam." Y/N's eyes widened. No way... "Are you sure?" They all nodded. This is so weird and disturbing. Was it some sort of ghost or something? "Thank you. You can all return to your work again."
They all bowed down before leaving her alone in the mansion. Y/N stood up as she took out a black bag. Not tonight. She didn't want to sleep here tonight. She packed some clothes into the bag before walking downstairs. Y/N got into her car. She left. Without informing anything to the guards or Ran. And she planned to stay in a hotel room for a night.
She enters the living room, with the man already waiting for her. His arm crossed, along with his legs. "Where have you been?" His deep voice gives butterflies in Y/N's stomach. She grits her teeth. It's the wrong time to feel that. "Did you sleep tight last night?" Y/N asks as she throws the black bag on the sofa. "I didn't sleep." He states calmly. "Why's that?"
"My wife went missing. How could I sleep tight?"
Her lips parting. Well that answer is quite umh— unexpected. "I have my own reason why I didn't sleep here last night." She sits across him, staring right into his beautiful darkened orbs. "Explain." Ran leans against the seat. "But first," Y/N clears her throat as she looks away. Her cheeks almost reddening. "Can't you wear something appropriate?" Ran squints his eyes a little.
