"did you understand anything in there?" i asked zayda and leaned against the lockers, while she started to pack her things away into her locker. it's after fifth block.

"eh. kinda, sorta... not really." she shrugged with a small laugh.

"at least i'm not the only one." i let out a small puff of air while i slipped my hand into my pockets.

i shamelessly stared at the side of her face as she continued to empty out her book bag into her locker.

she's so pretty.

"stop staring at me," she says, though she doesn't look at me. i go to correct her, though before i could, she does it herself, but in a mocking tone. "admiring. stop admiring me, eilish."

"why?" i raised a brow, my eyes never leaving the side of her face.

"you know exactly why." she stated.

"just because you have a girl, doesn't mean that i can't admire you, baby. you're pretty, and i like to admire pretty people." i said with a shrug.

"thank you," she mumbled as heat rose to her cheeks. "you know, you—"

zayda was cut off by her girlfriend coming up behind her and wrapping her arms around her waist. she kissed zay's neck, who then murmured a "hi, baby" with a giggle.

i want to know what she was going to tell me, but i doubt she would now that her girlfriend is here.

they talked for a moment before facing me. "billie, right?" her girlfriend raised a brow.

"yeah. and you are..?"

it's been a month, and i still haven't been bothered to learn her name.

honestly, i could be a dick and say something like "zayda's never mentioned you before." it would almost undoubtedly cause an argument between the two. i don't though, strictly because it would make zay get mad at me, and i don't want that.

i'd much rather her get mad at what's-her-face.

"leila. zayda's girlfriend." she introduced herself.

"clearly." i said as i cleared my throat.

leila narrowed her eyes briefly turning her attention back to zayda. she kissed the side of zay's head. "this your friend or..?"

"yeah, she's my friend." zayda smiled.

my eyes darted to the side at the word friend, even though that's what we are. i tried my best to suppress any more tics.

"well, it's nice to meet you, billie," leila gave a smile, though it definitely seemed forced. "i've heard a lot of things about you; not from zayda, but you know... a few people."

"righttt," i dragged out. "good things, i hope."

"oh, yeah, of course." she nodded, though i could tell that she was lying straight through her teeth.

she turned back to zay. "let's go to my house, yeah, babe?"

"i'm down for that." zayda agreed with a nod.
