i let out a small groan as i rolled over. i laid there for a while, trying to fall asleep, but i couldn't.

i've been trying to go to sleep for the past hour, and i still can't.

usually, i'd have leila over to cuddle with me, which helped me fall asleep. she couldn't come over tonight though.

billie's cuddles also help me fall asleep, but i didn't want to bother her and ask her to come over. i don't know how i would go about asking her anyways.

i groaned again as i laid sprawled out on my bed with my face buried in my pillow.

after i laid there for a while longer, i heard what sounded like a knock on my window. my brows furrowed as i turned to look.

i got up and cautiously walked towards the window. i looked through it, and i then shook my head.

i opened the window. "now... what the hell are you doing here?"

"i couldn't sleep," billie shrugged before attempting to crawl inside through the window.

"you can't just be coming through my window at one in the morning," i reprimanded, though i couldn't help but let out a laugh. "sheesh. what if leila was here?"

"so what if she—" she started to say, but stopped as she fell to the floor while trying to climb through the window. "ow." she whined as she sat up and rubbed at her head.

"you idiot," i sighed as i bent down to help her up. i then closed my window, while she trudged over to my bed.

"as i was saying, so what if she was here?" bil shrugged before laying down.

"okay... imagine your cuddling with your girlfriend, and then some girl just comes through your girlfriend's window. you'd be pretty pissed," i sent her a look.

"i'm not some girl though," she said. she didn't answer my question.

"you're gonna be the death of me," i shook my head as i walked over to my bed and crawled in beside her.

"yeah, yeah, whatever," she waved me off. "you'd be lost without me." she teased.

"if that's what helps you sleep at night, then sure," i joked back as she pulled me into her embrace.

"you would!" she insisted with a laugh.

"mhm," i hummed in a sarcastic tone as i tucked my head under her's.

"just admit it, baby."

"nope," i mumbled sleepily, already feeling myself drifting to sleep.

"dude, what the fuck?!" billie exasperated as she leaned forward.

we're currently playing mario kart in my room. we're sitting at the foot of my bed as we played. i had just passed billie, who had been in first place.

"haha! loser," i stuck my tongue out at her as i passed the finish line and won.

"how the hell were you in ninth damn place the whole race, and then passed me at the last second?!" she groaned as she fell back across my bed in frustration. "i think you're cheating; you gotta be, bro."

"i am not cheating," i gasped. "nah, i'm offended that you would accuse me of cheating!"

"you gotta be! 'cause seriously, how the fuck did you do that?!" she narrowed her eyes.

"not by cheating!" i threw my hands up. "i just got a bunch of shells, that's all."

"whatever you say," she huffed, obviously not believing me.

"i didn't cheat; i don't even how you would cheat in mario kart!"

"start up the next race, and we'll see then," she demanded.

"okay, we'll see then," i mocked as i started the next race.

we played through the race. i won again, though i maintained first place longer than i did in the previous race.

"see? i told you i wasn't cheating."

"yeah, whatever," she grumbled as she crossed her arms over her chest. "i don't even wanna play anymore."

"you're such a sore loser," i giggled. she pouted and playfully shoved me, which only made me laugh more.

"how was your day, baby?" i asked.

it's a few hours later. i'm over at leila's house. we're in her room, and we're on her bed. i'm straddling her lap as we talked.

"it was okay," she gave a small nod. "i had to help my mom out with a bunch of shit this morning, which was a bit annoying, but whatever. i was gonna hangout with elijah for a bit after i was done, but he's hanging out with his girlfriend."

i nodded along as i listened. she tilted her head. "how was your day though, my love?"

"it was good," i smiled. "i hung out with billie for a while; we played mario kart."

"oh," she said. "you sure do hang out with her a lot, huh?"

"well, yeah; she's my friend. why wouldn't i?"

"i dunno, just..." she trailed off, and then she shrugged. she looked off to the side with a look on her face that i couldn't quite read. i sighed.

"you're acting as if i spend all of my time with billie. i still spend most of my time with you," i told her. "not to mention, she's just a friend; you've got nothing to worry about, love."

"i never said any of that," she muttered. "it's just... i got so used to being the only person you hung out with, so it's just... weird, i guess, that you're hanging out with someone else now too."

"'cause i finally found another person that doesn't annoy me or isn't draining to hangout with. i'm not a people person, but you two are cool."

"yeah, alright," she mumbled.

"hey," i murmured as i cupped her cheeks. i pulled her in for a sweet kiss. "i love you. okay? i love you so much."

"i love you so much." she scrunched her nose up.

i peppered kisses across her face, which made her smile. in turn, that made me smile too.
