"so... you're like a gay romeo and juliet?"

i stared blankly at atticus, and i blinked at him. "what?"

"you're like a gay romeo and juliet!" he repeated with wide eyes. "with the sneaking around people's backs and shit."

"yeah, except juliet is also with elizabeth from across the street," i huffed.

"yikes..." he muttered.

"don't get me wrong, being with zay, whatever it is we have right now, is great and all, but the fact that she's still with leila really ruins the whole thing. i don't get why she still hasn't told her."

it's now friday, meaning it's been a week since me and zayda made up. she's still yet to tell leila about everything, and it's honestly making me upset.

"i don't know," he propped his head in his hand. "she should've been told her by now."

"right," i agreed. "she just keeps telling me 'soon.'"

"'soon' should've been within a week after it happened," he said.

"yeah," i sighed.

i crossed my arms over my desk and rested my head in them. we're in second block; one of the two classes that i don't have with zayda.

"maybe she actually will tell her soon," he tried to be optimistic. "i mean, that can't be an easily thing to tell someone. 'oh, yeah, sorry, i cheated on you, by the way.'"

i let out a small laugh at the voice he did. "hopefully, but i dunno, dude. at this point, it kinda feels like she's just never gonna tell her..." i trailed off as i lightly kicked the leg of my desk.

"don't say that," he frowned. "i'm sure she will."

i was silent as i kicked the desk leg again. i pursed my lips. "hopefully," i mumbled after a while.

i felt my phone buzz in my pocket. i pulled it out, and although i'm kinda upset with her, i stilled smiled as i saw that zay had texted.
