You groaned as your alarm went off. You spent the night tossing and turning. You would be surprised if you got more than two hours of sleep. You got up and grabbed your bathrobe before heading into the bathroom to take a shower.

After twenty minutes you were seated at the kitchen table enjoying a piece of toast. You looked up from your phone to see Bucky dressed in a pair of red and black plaid pajama pants emerge from his bedroom.

"Morning," you say as you look back at your phone.

"Morning," he says as he sits down at the table and pours himself a glass of apple juice. "Did you sleep well?"

"No," you respond not looking up from your phone.

"I'm sorry. By the way I can move out if you want. I don't have to stay here." He takes a sip of his juice.

"No, you can stay. I could honestly use the help with Sarah when she comes." You put your phone down. "I actually have to do some shopping today. If you could come that might help. It would probably go by faster."

"Sure. What do you need to get?" He asks as he takes a plum from the fruit bowl at the center of the table and takes a bite.

"Everything. Clothes, diapers, bottles, a crib, pacifiers, and a diaper bag. Not to mention toys and personal care items for the baby." You sigh and run your fingers through your hair.

"Don't worry y/n I'll help. We will get it done in no time." He takes another bite of his plum.

Bucky went to get dressed and by the time you finished your dishes he was by the door waiting.

"I'll drive," he says, grabbing a set of keys off the key ring. You and Bucky make your way to his car and  drive to target.

Once you get the store you head straight to the baby section with Bucky pushing the cart. You pick out a crib with Bucky's help and arrange to have it delivered to your house tomorrow. After picking out a crib you head to the diaper section where you buy several boxes of diapers and lots of baby wipes. Next you get baby soaps and shampoos.

And then comes the hardest part.... shopping for the clothes. You take your time picking out several onsies, some cute shirts and pants, a few dresses, and lots of little booties.

Finally after being at the store for three hours, you head to the check out lane. The clerk smiles and asks, "This your first born?"

You hesitate before smiling and saying, "yes," after all your bags are in the cart you go back to the car. Bucky insists that you sit down and unloads the cart while you wait for him in the car.

"You okay?" He says getting into the car.

"I just...." You start to cry.

"You're think about how we missed out on shopping for our baby together?" He asks. You start to cry even more which Bucky takes as a yes.

You were filled with mixed emotion. You got to experience shopping for baby items with Bucky who was once the love of your life. But it was Steve's baby you were having and it should have been him that was with you today. Filled with emotion and not knowing how to feel you begin to cry even more if possible. Bucky holds your hand as you cry. After fifteen minutes you get control of yourself again.

Bucky smiles at you sadly. "I know it's hard y/n" he starts the car and holds your hand the whole ride home.

You get back to your apartment and take all your bags inside. "Hey so I was thinking I'd turn the master closet into the nursery for now. It definitely can fit the crib and now that Steve's things are in storage I can fit all the baby clothes in there. I'll just need your help moving the dresser, well really I need you to move the dresser. Do you mind?"

"Of course not. Where would you like me to move it to?" He follows you to the bedroom.

"I was thinking here," you point to a empty corner behind the bedroom door.

"Ok give me a few minutes." He says going into your closet.

"Ok. I'm going to go to the bathroom." You go into the bathroom and take your time. After washing your hands you take your hair down from its normal high ponytail and brush it out before braiding it. When you return the to bedroom Bucky is just finishing moving the dresser. "Thanks Buck," you say siting down on the bed. "Do you want some lunch? I was going to make sandwiches." You ask as you take your shoes off and throw them to the side.

"Sure, I'll help." He says as you get up and head out to the kitchen.

"No you've already done so much today," you start pulling meat and cheese out of the fridge.

"You're also eight months pregnant, please it would make me feel better," he says as he grabs the bread from the pantry.

"Ok fine," you sigh. After a few minutes you and Bucky are sitting at the table enjoying your sandwiches. "Thanks for everything Buck. I know Steve would be grateful too."

"You're welcome," Bucky smiles before he takes the last bite of his sandwich. After you finish your food bucky insists on doing the dishes so you can go take a nap.
