Ophelia sat on her chair in the waiting room. She tapped her fingers on her knee and waited for the doctor to let them in.

When her mother died, she felt alone, she felt like she had no one to go to. Her sadness would bubble inside her. She never let it out. Her mother would always tell her,

'everything beautiful comes with pain. Roses have thorns, don't they?'

Ophelia dint understand what this meant. She would ask her mother what she was talking about, but all she would say is, 'you'll figure it out dear'. now that Ophelia was older, she clearly understood.

Everything so beautiful is hiding pain. Everything so happy will disappear quicker than the snap of your fingers. Everything right always goes wrong.

She learnt that the hard way. She was raised in a cruel orphanage. One were they won't feed you for a long time. One were they'll hit you for the fun of it. One were they make you feel worthless and unloved.

Every child deserves a home. Every home deserves people. And every person deserves love. But love, love is very hard to acquire.

Ophelia and John b got called in by the lady at the front desk. They walked into the room and sat down. There were beeping machines everywhere.

"Now, what do we need?" The doctor asked with a smile.
"Um well we think we are siblings. But we aren't too sure" John b shrugged.
"Ok would you too please fill out these forms. And we'll get ready to get you both tested"

John b and Ophelia both shared a look and nodded.

~~~
Once they were tested, they went back outside to the waiting room. Ophelia bounced her leg up and down while John b bit his fingernails.
Ophelia sat there thinking of her mother. Her poor mother had to fight alone. She missed her. You've truly never learn what the words 'I miss you' mean, until you reach for your loved ones hand, and it wasn't there.
