"I was just about to come after you two! You need to keep those bodies healthy! Now, eat up!" Julieta said giving us two heaping plates of tamales. I started to eat.
"You two have become inseparable, what are we going to do?" Agustín asked, coming into the kitchen all swollen. Julieta clicked her tongue.
"I told you to stop trying to collect the honey from the swarm, leave them be!" She said, whipping her hands on her apron before grabbing an extra tamale and giving it to her husband.
"I know, but it wasn't that swarm this time, there's a new one at the edge of the forest-"
"And you'll leave that hive alone too," She scolded.
"But-"
"No buts, eat," She said, getting back to baking.
"Ok," He ate the tamale and he looked normal again.
"So you two are like, married or something?" He asked.
"What? No, she's just, we're just dating," Camilo said, wow was he terrible at explaining our relationship, but then, it was confusing.
"We are married, in the future, but right now we're just dating, if you knew that you were going to marry Julieta when you started dating would you change your relationship status to married?"
"I guess not,"
"Y/N!" Someone said. I jumped in my seat and turned to look at the breathless Bruno.
"The training, we should start, I've been looking all over for you," He panted. (Tells you just how much he was running around because he's been running behind the walls for years.)
"Ok, let's go," I said, taking my last tamale with me. Camilo took his last two with him and tagged along.
"See, inseparable," Agustín commented. Julieta chuckled.
We walked out into the backyard and Bruno pointed at a tree.
"Can you hold all the leaves in place?"
"Probably," I said, taking a bite of my tamale and raising my hand to help focus the direction of my control. All the leaves froze and I continued to munch on my tamale. Julieta had an amazing recipe, I would have to learn it.
"Ok, now I want Camilo to make you mad and try not to let any of the leaves move,"
"I don't want to, why can't you do it?" Camilo said.
"Because she doesn't care what I think, and you know how to annoy people," Bruno pointed out. Camilo sadly walked up to me.
"I don't mean anything I'm about to say," He said. I rolled my eyes. This training sucked. His form shifted and a wave of boiling anger started up inside me boring out my eyes. Camilo shifted back.
"See, that's what we need to help you with," Bruno said, pointing at the frozen shredded pieces of leaves frozen in the air.
"Oh no, the tree," I said.
"It's fine, there are lots of trees," He dismissed.
"Ok, Camilo, so your thing," Bruno said. Camilo shifted back into the eyepatch man that had shot my ma. I tried to focus on the shredded leaves in my control but there was a desire to tear everything up, I was so angry. Why had my dad sent that guy to kill ma? Bruno applauded me.
