The buttery sunlight filtered through my window. Something I had to get used to these last couple of months.
Getting out of bed I glance out the big floor to ceiling windows. Out to the busy New York city. I have always dreamed to live here. And for the summer my dreams came true.
Along with other not so pleasant dreams.
"Ivy get you butt in here.Ric actually made pancakes. You have to see it." Calls the voice, beckoning me to the kitchen. How loud must she has shouted to have me able to hear her in the two-story penthouse.
"Coming aunt Jenna." I smile lazily. I'm Im living the life, with no family drama to speak off.
"Okay I've been putting this off for months now, but we need to talk." I say sternly to the pair of adults. "Wow I feel like she about to break up with us." Jenna whispers to a glowing Ric.
Three guesses as to the reason for that glow.
"Look its almost the end of summer, I'm needed back at some point." I sigh the weight of Mystic Falls already crushing me. The only person I contacted back home was Bonnie. "You know for school and stuff." I trail off looking out to the distance of my new city.
A throat clearing brings my attention back to them. "I want you to stay here. There I said it."The bomb I've been waiting to unload since we got here all those months ago.
"We can't just leave you alone at that... that place." Ric argues, Jenna nodding her head in agreement. "Yes. Yes, you can. Elena and I are 18 now. Plus, with you being here we can set Jeremy up. That way you're at least watching over 1 Gilbert." I reason.
Jeremy was a low blow, but I knew it would persuade them. Even if we decide to stay, what about work and Jennas studies.
Hope blossoms in my chest. "Well Jenna can do everything online or transfer here to New York. Anything else I can handle just say the word."
"How would you even do that?"
"How do you think I can even afford this penthouse?"
This is the only way you're getting your family back. Trust me. I have this gut feeling.
"Fine." He relents to the new information being provided to me. "Take this."He hands me a black card. It feels heavy in my hand. "Elijah I —"
"You can and you will." As if reading my mind. "The rest of my details will be emailed to you. I already have a safe house set in New York. Its in your name. Take the teacher and Jenna with you. If what you say is true, I fear you will need to be away from here until I contact you saying otherwise." The sad truth is that I wanted to run. I've wanted out of this town for so long and now he's just handed it to me. In the form of a tiny plastic card.
"Okay but you understand that everything that happens tonight and the next couple of days happens for a reason. He only means well 'lijah." I say my final warning and enter the Salvatore boarding house for what feels like the last time in a while.
"Jenna! Ric! Stop sucking face, we're leaving."
The email with everything I needed to know came an hour after that conversation. He even put me in contact with a vampire working under him. His name was Slater. Apparently, they faked his death, in return he got a daylight ring and the protection of an Original. Elijah realized that he needed someone that new everything Slater did and that to kill him would be a tragedy.
I never invited him in but he has helped me over the last couple of months. He has stayed close, only until after I return home. Those were Elijah words. He was to help me in anyway possible until the original himself returned to my aid.
But now after months of waiting I'm pissed off. The noble original has a lot to explain. Starting with why I keep having these dreams about him and his family.

2 updates in 1 day. I've actually written quite ahead so expect updates. However they will be shorter chapters.
We're yet to meet Klaus but was his already in town. The ritual happened and Jenna wasn't the vampire sacrificed. Do you think Klaus used a main character?
Who do you suggest we use?
Anyway I've decided who the love interest will be however I realize while writing this that this book isn't focused on romance. Otherwise we would have a clue about who Ivy's love interest is ages ago.
At this point I think the romance will toned down. It's more about Ivy finding herself and realizing her potential as a witch.
I don't want her progress to be overshadowed by her love interest.
