I needed to get up, the spirits were after me and now I could feel the affects of using my kind of magic. It was dark and dangerous, but I still wanted more. It was polluting my mind with every spell, twisting me into something new. With Esther out of the way, they've moved up their timeline for bringing me back. There was no way I was going down without a fight.

The living room was large yet I felt boxed in, everyone was watching me with hawk eyes but no one spoke. They waited for me to break the ice even though I could tell that they wanted to let it rip with the questions. All but Eli, he stood by the window looking at to the garden with his back turned towards me. So I got up and ignored everyone else stares.

I stood next to my brother and just took a deep breath. "You know we planted wisteria and ivy wherever we stayed. We had to have a part of you with us always, even if it was just your namesake and favourite flower." He broke the silence with heart blowing fact. A fact I was unaware of even though I watched them for most of the time I was dead.

"Our grief was overwhelming the first time; we hadn't recovered until you walked back into our lives." He hadn't turned towards me yet. "We will not bare a second time."

"That is to much to place on one person Eli. Even you must see that."

He finally turned and we watched each other with a critical eye. "And yet it is so. You are the glue which hold us together."

"No." I shook my head. "Our family has been broken for centuries and you want to know why?" I whispered angrily. "Because you acted like children who had their toys taken away. I died and you stopped caring about each other. What the fuck—"

"Ivy, no that's –"

"Don't fucking interrupt me." I snap.  "I died. You should have gotten over it, mourned me and went on with your life. You do realize I'm going to die right? I'm human –"

"That can be easily fixed." Nik spoke for the first time.

"I'm mortal! I will die Nik and you must mourn me."

"So that's it?" Kol says from the couch. "You're just going to die and leave us once more? You're not even going to fight, are you?" disappointment clouds his eyes, glossing over them until tears fall.

"I've been fighting. Don't you get that? With each breath I take, I fight. I shouldn't be here, and nature is fighting back to restore balance." I push my hair behind my ears. "All I'm trying to say is that you should enjoy this time you have with me, however limited it may be. I'm mortal."

"Limited? So that's what the black veins were about?"

"Maybe."

Finn stood up and came to stand in front of me. "That was black magic. What is going on. The truth this time Ivy." He demanded the truth but that was something I couldn't give him. I couldn't give the full truth.

"I already told you. Nature is fighting back; I shouldn't have been brought back. I have been suffering since birth, I just didn't know it until now. Unless I find a solution, if there even is one."

Glass can be heard breaking, and we turn out gazes to Rebekah who had a bottle of bourbon in her hand. She simply stepped over the mess, leaving the room. There was silence for a moment then the break of furniture permeated the house.

There was no time to waste. They were adults and would have to handle the emtion they were feeling like the rest of us. Coddling was not working. "Look I need to do some research on a spell. The spirits are after me, but I won't give them the satisfaction. Where's Esthers grimore?"

"What are you doing?" Bonnie questioned as I looked through my mother's spell book. "I need a way out of this thing with the witches. Right now, they hold my life in their hands, and I hate it more than you know."

She watched me but did like what she sure. Bonnie didn't believe me. "Fine. I'll help you."

"Nope."

" 'Nope'? Why not?"

I exhaled loudly. "I don't need your help. It was a big spell I performed on the room earlier and the fact that you countered it?" I proud smile formed on my face. My hands found her face and I give it a little squeeze. "That was –" hot " –impressive. But you need to go rest. Please."

Her shoulders slumped in defeat. "Fine but is there any way I can persuade you to join me?" she flirted without releasing and it was really cute when her eyes widened, and she started to blush.

"Can't I have to find a way out asap. But maybe later." I winked. She turned to walk, and I just couldn't help myself but a slap her ass on the way out. The sound boomed around the room, I had to close my eyes at just enjoy the moment. When they opened, I watched as desire glazed her eyes. She left the room in a hurry.

Shaking my head of the wild thoughts that entered, I put my focus back on the work in front of me.
