I am staring blankly at the wide window of my hospital room hearing the rustles of the leaves.
"I once had a . . . friend. Who accompanies me in my loneliest time."
*Tmph tmph* as soon as I heard the sounds of steps coming. I smiled and looked at the closed door.
A vivid figure of a girl enters the room with her attractive smile while holding a bouquet of flowers. Calendula, my favorite flower of all.
I was admitted to the hospital because my illness reoccurred. The room is meant for two but I am treated as a special patient because the hospital's owner is my dad's best friend.
" Aerial. The other room is full so we are transferring one patient here. Is that okay for you? "
The nurse asked as she came to check me up.
" Sure no problem. "
When she transferred, the room's suffocating ambiance turns into a warm comforting place. She was admitted because of surgery and stayed there for a week we talked and she made me feel that there's hope and there's happiness but even if she was discharged she continued visiting me and cheering me up every day after her school.
She peeled fruits for me. Fed me like a baby and read storybooks for me. I can never forget how happy she was every time she's talking about her school.
" There are many clubs you can join and the students there are really friendly. "
She said with a joyous tone as she peels an apple for me. She made me happy in the times that all I could ever feel is pain and sorrow. Having a life that is only dependent on pills and life machines. That was so suffocating for me but when she came in my life . . . I was able to breathe slowly. I was able to. . . appreciate things I didn't care about.
" I can't wait to be discharged. I wanna go to school with you. "
" Aughhh don't rush. You still need to be fully strong. It's your turn now. "
" A1 to A10 "
" Checkmate! "
She said as she took my King.
" You're so good at this. I wonder if I could ever beat you. "
I complements as she started putting all the pieces inside the box.
" Don't be. One day you'll be good at it too. No giving up as I said. "
" Yeah right. "
My surgery went well but I still needed to stay till my wounds completely heals.
Hannah visits me after her school but she seems stressed.
" Hannah, are you okay? You seem spacing out a lot. Is everything okay?"
I said in a weak tone.
" Huh?. . . Oh yah. . . Of course. Aughhh, don't worry I'm just worried about my next competition. I heard that there's a lot of geniuses I'll be competing to"
She said as she quickly changed her mood.
" Competition? Or are there any other else?. "
I asked really worried.
" Of course, there's no other else. . . Sleep now. You still needed to rest. It's what the doctor said. "
" O-kayyy. You say so. "
I just said still worried. I wanna talk more to her but the sleeping pill seem to start working and made me slept so tight.
