Aira's POV
I am patiently waiting for Hanna when she suddenly came in and ran to me and hugged me.
" Hanna, what's wrong? "
I said really worried.
" Nothing, I just missed you so much. "
She just said. But something about her tone doesn't.
" No Hanna, please tell me. I'm worried. "
I insisted.
" No need to worry silly. "
She just said as she loosen up her hug and pokes my head.
" Is there something wrong at your school? "
I still asked but she just smiled.
" Nothing. Everyone there likes me. No need to worry. I just really missed you. Your surgery is tomorrow night, right? You need to rest. "
She just said as she sat down on my bed.
" Hanna. . . "
I muttered still worried.
" After your surgery, we're gonna go to school together. "
She said while looking in my eyes directly. I just smiled thinking maybe I'm just overreacting.
" Promise? "
I asked.
" Promise. "
She assured.
After the surgery, she didn't visit me. The next day. . .
" Hanna! "
I exclaimed as I went out of bed and hugs her.
" Aira! Do you miss me? "
She said as she hugs back.
" Of course!. . . you haven't visited me. "
I said in such joy.
" Sorry I am just busy at school. How are you feeling? "
She asked as she looks at me from head to toe.
" Much better. Look! I can manage to walk now. "
I said as I stump my feet on the floor like a child.
" Yah I see. I'm so happy for you "
She said smiling.
" I can't wait to go to school and experience all the fun you talked about. "
I said again as we sat down on my bed.
" . . .I am too. "
She just said as she starts peeling the orange she bought for me.
I smiled at Hanna from the window of my room as she waves me goodbye. I'm so glad she's okay now.
Even if I'm not yet fully recovered. I pleaded with my doctor for me to go out. I went to the Eleanor School entrance exam but turns out I am too early but I saw a guy sitting in the back row. I approached him and smiled.
" Hi, you're taking the exam too?"
I asked and he gaze at me
" Uhm no. "
He just said as he put his complete attention on his phone.
" Huh? Then what are you doing here? "
I still asked
" Well, I just got bored. "
He just answered still playing something on his phone
" Ooo-kay? Mind if I sit beside you?"
I asked once again.
" Uhm yeah. "
He just said still playing something.
I took out Hanna's notes that I borrowed. But I got curious to what he is playing to so I peeped.
" Chess? What level are you? "
I asked as I watch him take his next move.
" Grandmaster. "
He just said which made me amazed.
" Wow! You're so good at it. "
I complimented.
" I know. "
He just said as if he has been praised about it a lot. Students started coming by one by one.
" I'm gonna go now. "
He said as he walks to the exit before I could even ask his name.
We are all complete till the teacher came and started pulling out the papers from the expanded folder.
*beep* my phone rang
From Hanna,
A tree was planted in the sand but still, it strived
As some company such as the rain gently showered
One day a storm came and crashed its branches
Another hurricane came and took its leaves
Nothing is left for her except her withering trunk
She gazes at the dark sky and felt no hope
A rain showered but it's too late
She's slowly dying as she slowly suffocates from the cruel world
Farewell my world, my rain. Please continue as I take some rest "
The poem felt heart-taking. It's too sad. There's something completely wrong. . . I-is she planning to. N-no.
I stands up from my seat and headed to the door quickly.
" The test is about to beg. . . "
The teacher said but I still went out. I quickly ran down the stairs and bumps into a lot of people but I didn't mind. I quickly take a cab and ran into their house. I went up the stairs panting almost out of breath. I opened the door of their apartment but it's locked. I quickly look at my bag to search for the duplicate key Hanna gave me last time. I unlocked the door but even if I turned the doorknob a lot of times and pushed the door it still can't be opened as if a chair is covered behind the door. I look at my surroundings and saw a fire extinguisher on the side. I destroyed the fire extinguisher's house using my bare hands that made my hand bleed from the shattered glass but I didn't mind and continued banging the door using the fire extinguisher. The moment I succeed. . .
It was too late. In front of me was a fallen chair and a body hanging from the ceiling.
