I went into the classroom but Anthony is not there yet. Our next teacher came but he is still not here yet which is odd cause he is always early. I forgot my water so I excused myself to the teacher to buy some. As I am walking to the hallway I saw Anthony heading to his Van so I quickly ran down.
" Anthony! "
I shouted as I ran near him panting.
" Aira. "
He said in a sad tone.
" Why are you not inside? You're already late. "
I asked managing to breathe normally.
" . . . I'm no longer a student here."
He said with sad eyes.
" What? Why? What happened. "
I asked curiously.
" It's better this way. "
He just said mysteriously. I can see how he doesn't want to talk about it so I didn't force him.
" Uhm anyways. . . I think you forgot this. "
I said as I take the chess piece from my pocket and handed him.
" The Queen. "
He just said as he took it from me.
" It's so ironic. The King wins but its Queen fell after the game. Too bad only one king can remain after a match. "
He just said with sadder eyes. He suddenly took my hand and gave me back the Queen.
" Keep this for me. One day I'll get it back. . . Thanks for the memories. Goodbye "
He just said as he enters the Van. He whispered something but I didn't hear it because the van started its engine at the same time. He just faintly smiles as he slides the door to close it.
I stared at the Queen thinking to why he didn't take it now and his words are so deep when he said he'll take it back. It sounds like he has another meaning to it. I just went back to my classroom realizing I was out for too long.
I was hearing conversations of the girls talking about why Anthony didn't go to school. If only they knew that their prince is already gone. I am currently following Beverly as we hold our tray of lunch searching for a seat.
" There's a space there. "
Beverly said as she pointed to the far corner just where Zach and his friends are eating.
" Ca-cant we seat on the other table? "
I just said that made her eyebrow raise.
" Are you both having LQ or something? "
She asked.
" No of course . . . I mean we can sit there. "
I said pointing to a girl group same our age but in where their tables are far away from Zach's.
" Seriously? Those girls are the ones spreading rumors about you. You wanna die early? "
She said with a dead eye trying to knock some sense into me. She grabs my hand and headed to Zach's table. She quickly sat giving me no choice but to sit beside Zach.
" Hey Zach, finally you're GF is joining us for lunch. "
His friend Justin mock him but he just gave them a deadly look.
" And who is this lovely lady with you? "
Justin asked at me looking at Beverly.
" Sorry, I'm not interested in dating."
Beverly just responds as she starts eating.
" Woah hard to get. I like that. "
Justin just added still with more interested eyes.
" Enough. Let's just eat. "
Zach said cutting them out. We started eating when suddenly Justin talks again.
" So do you two have kissed already? "
Justin asked out of the blue and I just damn imagined us kissing. I coughed after it. Zach offered me his handkerchief and I quickly grabbed it to cover my mouth as I continued coughing.
" Is that a yes? "
He asked curiously. Beverly quickly sensed that I wanna avoid the topic so he grabs his spoon and continuously feed Justin until his mouth is full.
" Say Ahhh. . . one more and another. . . last . . . very last one. The last last one. . . "
Beverly said till Justin's mouth is full, coughing.
" Sorry, Aira. Our friend Justin is just talkative. "
Zach's other friend said in excuse.
