A beach party has been organized this night by some universities students, they are all dancing, drinking, playing, eating, shouting, couple kissing or rather playing in the sea, everyone in bikinis.
Brooke separates from her group for some minutes to get to the sea too. Memorizing her father wasn't easy for her, but she had to do so for her safety. Alone, along the beach in a red-pink bikini, with a long scarf tied around her waist through her legs, she could still remember how she passed all her Sundays at the beach with her father, making sandcastles, swimming and having fun along the beach, sometimes with Mado also. Wish she could come back to those days when she was six years old, coming every Sunday with her dad and playing like kids.
She warms her body with her hands when a slide breeze passes. Muscular arms behind hold her tightly for her to get more warm while recovering her neck and cheek of kisses. She could recognize her boyfriend.
"What are you doing here sweetheart?" Wayatt asks looking at the horizon.
"Just needed to feel the breeze, remembering some good moments and... Telling myself I'm not that bad," Brooke answers in a cheerless tone.
Wayatt unfold his arms he surrounded her and made her turn to him. "Tell me, Brooke, the first time I saw you to this beach, you were crying, and dancing with grief. Why is it that, when you are coming to this beach you feel so sad?" Wayatt asks with a bothered face.
She looks at Wayatt for a while, trying to know what to say and sighs. She sits on the sand and invites Wayatt to sit down too beside her.
"The day, you saw me here I was sad, because of what I found. I was ready to get to school and have repetition with my dancing crew when I heard a conversation between my mother and my dad. They were talking about our heritage, the heritage my father left for me and Wendy."
"Why were they talking about that?" Wayatt interrogates.
"In two weeks, that is on the second of November, it will be my birthday and I will have 18 years old..." Brooke stays quiet, Wayatt waits for her to continue and looks at her attentively. "And it will also be Wendy's birthday. My dad want me to have access to the heritage my father left me, but my mom preferred to wait for her little Wendy to have also 18 years so that we should together have access to it. And that's not all, she preferred to leave the entire enterprise litigations to Wendy because she feels that I will not be able to handle it, even if I am with Wendy." Brooke's eyes are wet, and water envelops it, her eyes pain, and her nose inches, then comes tears who flow on her jaws. Wayatt wipes them with his thumb, looking at her with sorrow and compassion " I am always obliged to share everything with her, even my birthday. The last will of my father will be contested in favour of Wendy can you imagine? The thing that made me so sad isn't the fact they want to contest my father's will, I don't need that money. What hurts me is the none concern my mom she shows me, putting Wendy at the top and me at the bottom. Fuck it! I'm the elder after all. It's already awful for me to share everything with her, why should I tolerate this? Why?" She sobs once more for the same situation. Wayatt takes her into his arms, encouraging her to cry for her to liberate.
"Her mind was lost in thoughts of plots; escaping reality at whatever the cost," Wayatt says.
Brooke wipes her eyes and redresses from Wayatt's chest, then looks at him " why are you saying that now?" She asks.
"It's a poetry line I read one day. Each time I see you, I feel like this line was made for you... Brooke! Everyone is unique, you are unique. Reality is quite damn hard, but it makes you stronger don't escape it, by changing who you were, don't become what people want you to be, be whoever you need to be."
She gets back her head to his chest " I feel so save with you." She says while he caresses her hair, both of them looking at the sea.
"I wasn't like that... I wasn't crying when something hurts me. But with you is different, in front of you crying seems so agreeable."
"That is because you aren't afraid to leave your feelings express themselves anymore." Wayatt puts a kiss on her head while holding her tightly for her not to get cold.
A few minutes later, they decide to get to their group at the beach party to get some fun. Brooke and Wayatt hand in hand, in love like ever they could be. Then a voice cracks her joy, and she can't imagine she is here.
"Ohh Brooke, Wendy finally... came to the party," Mackenzie says.
Brooke and Wendy look at each other with so much anger, before Wayatt invites Brooke to better come and sit with him. Brooke, wanting to instead provoke her sister and show her joy of being in a relationship, sits on Wayatt's lap instead. She looks at Wendy proudly before kissing her boyfriend, making Wendy boil of anger inevitably, but prefers to control.
"So we have already organized... Ashley's birthday, which birthday is next? I would want us to go to Niagara falls." Mackenzie asks.
"Mine!" Wendy and Brooke say simultaneously.
"Oh! Which birthday is first?" Fred asks.
"The two are born on the same day, but not in the same year," Amber explains, her legs on Fred's lap while sitting beside him.
"Wow, I never heard such things, two sisters born on the same day. So you could be twins of the same day." Mackenzie chuckles and throws herself on the chair. Everybody could realize she is already drunk.
"Mackenzie, is better you sit a little." Fred orders.
"Hey! Never tell a woman what she has to do," Mackenzie says loudly before drinking another tropical cocktail. " okay... and what are you... usually planning to do?"
"Ohh I usually, organized elegant parties, accompanied by champagne and gorgeous stuff, with important personalities... Oh but I don't think Brooke can't understand that." Wendy provokes.
"Umm yeah... You are right. I rather organized my parties in nightclubs, or I rent a big house for all the most popular people to come to my party. You know, those people who are of my age and with whom I will not be forced to smile and cheer with them with champagne... Ohh I forgot you don't drink alcohol, you rather prefer grenadine juice for your wine," Brooke chuckles before Wayatt whispers she should calm down. "Relax babe, I'm just describing my incredible parties. But I think Wendy can't understand that. For my friends not to get embarrassed, I decided this year for my 18th birthday, that I will leave my mom to organize our birthday simultaneously." Brooke declares.
"Are you going to survive?" Wendy intimidates.
"Mind your words, you don't know to whom you are talking," Brooke responds bravely.
"Okayyyyyy, so let's cheer to the future birthday of the Wild Sisters... Oh let me go and get water for you Wendy," Mackenzie tries to stand.
"No need..." Wendy takes a glass of tropical cocktail and drinks a small portion, then gets out a sound of satisfaction. No coughing and no disgusting face, she seems to have control." I will drink cocktail."
Everyone looks at Wendy, trying to know what is happening to her. Quarrelling with her sister and drinking alcohol?
"Okay so let's cheer." They all cheer and drink before discussing. Wendy eclipses herself.
Ashley alights her glass, opens widely her eyes and has her mouth half-open, she stands slowly when seeing her prince charming in front of her.
"Mason!" She pronounces.
Everyone stops their activities, and looks in the same direction, effectively seeing Mason and Francis behind him, they stand surprise.
