Chapter 8

"Masyado 'tong madami. Caldereta lang naman gusto ko!" Ngumuso ako. Masyadong madami 'yung handa!

Paano ko kakainin 'to?!

"Claire, taste the Caldereta. Mom personally cooked it for you! She misses you that much."

"If you can't finish it, okay lang," ngumiti si Sebastian.

Pati 'yung kanin! The dishes taste... home. Na-miss ko 'yung mga putahe. Most of the dishes that were in my plate were my favorites.

"Full?"

"Yeah," I smiled. "Thank you for... inviting me. Na-miss ko 'yung family mo."

"They missed you too... so much." He smiled. "Matagal ka na nila gusto makita. Worried about you."

Sinimulan ko naman kainin 'yong desserts. At halos maglaway ako nang makita that it was Mango Graham and Buko Pandan! Those were my favorites, and I haven't had them in a long time.

They were so kind.

"Seb, you're taking STEM, right?" Eloise asked. Her long brown wavy hair complements her skin tone. She's also quite tall and mestiza.

"So you're pursuing medicine, huh?" Tristan asked. He's dressed in a white tee underneath a black leather jacket and pants. His side-parted black hair complemented his skin perfectly.

He just nodded, maybe he didn't want to talk about it. I always knew that he wanted to pursue medicine, but he never told me that he liked it. He used to tell me he wanted to be a pilot so that we could travel together.

"What about you Claire?" Ate Adelaide asked, diverting the topic. She was the oldest. Mas matanda sya kay Ate Solace. She has short brown hair and soft features. "Which school do you plan to enroll in? I heard you've been always the top in your class! I can help you enroll in any university you liked."

"I have no plans yet." I forced a smile. "Pero thank you Ate for your offer! I'll consider that, too."

I have no plans as of yet. I'm not even sure which strand to get. It was a question I had been trying to dodge because, even now, in my senior year of high school, I am still undecided.

"Oh," she parted her lips a bit, regretting what she asked. "I'm so sorry! Don't rush, everything takes time. Don't worry."

"Okay lang, ate. Thank you." I smiled.

Sebastian looked at me, lowkey asking if I'm okay. I just gave him a smile and thumbs up. He was always present... and I hope he keeps his word.
