I take a palmful of love
in my hand
from the ocean of my heart.
The waves splash at my feet
as if telling me something;
their splashing was rhythmless.
Strange.I pour the palmful of love
on you, closing my eyes.
Your cheeks turn red,
my heart stirs a thunderstorm,
and I pour some more. You sip some of it,
wetting your lips.
This sensation
sends stars under my feet. But then,
I notice something strange
yet again.
You've never looked into
my eyes.
Is that why they've dried?I still pour some more,
even though you don't ask for more.Splash!
The palmful falls at my feet
when I see you
drinking from someone else's
hands.Was my love too sweet?
Was it bitter than
my eyes?
Was my love never
meant to exist?I drop some wasted love
into my drying eyes.
They burn like fireflies.I never wanted to do it.
The spilled love
follows your feet,
I stop them from crawling
any further.
But they don't listen to me
anymore.I watch you
as you watch me.
Your eyes fill with terror,
and mine with calmness
blooms.
My love crawls over you,
it climbs and climbs and climbs
until it covers you.
And then
that palmful starts freezing
like water in winter.
You freeze with it too.Shatter!
With this,
my love ends.
I wish you had never
left me alone.
I've forgotten to
love.
