'What is peace?'
the moon asked me.
'When a child looks at you
and smiles,'
I smiled convincingly,
'he's not only happy
but peaceful too.
When I look at you,
you melt in my heart
reflecting in my eyes,
just then I feel our distance
reducing to an armful.'
'You are overstating.'
the moon blushed.
'But what is peace;
a moment in peace?'
'Imagine this,'
I closed my eyes,
'mountain breathes mist,
a whirl of dead leaves
breathing life into a deer's eyes,
willowherbs sprinkled along the riverbank,
swaying with the wind, tossing their scent
all over the place inviting bees.
Forever and forever
I will be at peace.'
The moon shoneever-so-brightly.
