"JESUS CHRIST RIVER!" He cried out

"JESUS CHRIST RIVER!" He cried out. Pure fear pooled into his gaze and he grabbed my elbow to stop himself from slipping.

"Sorry not sorry. You implied I was a mean person," I pointed out. "And you barely moved wuss."

He kept his hand on my elbow and stared with wide eyes, down at the concrete driveway below. "I know you said you'd throw me off the roof if I stole your spot, but please not today."

"Why not today?" I joked, my eyes focused on his hand and the electric feeling pulsing under his touch.

"Well I mean, death is inevitable. But I'd rather go out doing something fun." The childish sparkle returned to his features and he shot me a goofy grin.

"Like what?"

"Like anything. I'd rather die being eaten by a shark than die alone in an retirement home. I'm an adventure junkie, if you haven't noticed. I surf, hike, run and play about a dozen sports," he ticked them off on his fingers.

"A fellow thrill seeker," I applauded him.

"You're one too?" He questioned, half surprised.

"I mean, this is the only thrilling thing I've done," I gestured at me sitting on the roof. "But I wish I could do other things."

"You wish?" He furrowed his brows.

I nodded.

He removed his hand from my elbow to lean back on it. "I can change that, if you want."

Now it was my turn to scrunch up my eyebrows. "How?"

A smile slipped onto his face and he rubbed his hands together mischievously. "Your bucket list."

At the words my cheeks coloured and I avoided his gaze by staring out at the empty road. "It was a silly idea. A spur of the moment," I lied.

In all honesty, it wasn't a spur of the moment. I had thought about it a lot and was actually considering the idea of it before my CHD thoughts got the better of it.

"I thought it was a pretty wicked idea."

The look I gave him was rather dubious. "You did?" I replied.

"Mhmm," he nodded and stood up to wipe his hands. "Let me just go grab something."

It barely crossed to a minute when he returned to the roof with a piece of paper in hand and a pen in the other.
