Chapter 2

I found Ashley talking to Joker when I walked up to her, "Ashley you're coming on this mission, suit up." She nods her head and runs off.

"Are you sure about bringing her on this mission commander, she seems a little unstable and Saren won't help her fear of aliens."

I sigh, "I'm brining three other people Joker, that way I can leave someone with her if she starts to act up."

"Ok commander, what ever you say and we are 20 minutes out from the drop point."

I hear screaming and I quickly run to the med bay, I see Ashley screaming and crying. "What's wrong?"

"All we said was Vakarian, we were calling for Garrus and she started screaming."

"Ashley you're not coming on this mission, but what's wrong?"

"He's a descendant of Garrus Vakarian the II, he led the war that almost wiped out humanity." She was hyperventilating and tears are running down her cheeks. "Please take me with you, I need to prove myself."

I look her in the eye and I see how desperate she is, "Ashley, Garrus, Liara and Tali suit up. Be ready In ten." I help pull Ashley up off the ground and she hugs me.

"Thanks Kathryn and sorry about that break down, I won't happen again commander." She salutes to me and walks after Liara who is helping her suit up.

"Are you sure about bringing her Shepard, he might endanger the mission," Garrus whispers to me. Suddenly he flies backwards into wall.

"Don't talk behind my back when I can hear you!" Ashley yells, still glowing. She shakes her head and her new omni-tool glows as she runs towards my boyfriend. "I'm so sorry, it's just......" Garrus stands up and looks at me.

"You ok Garrus?" I ask him. He nods his head and I grab Ashley.

"Would you like to explain what the hell just happened?!"

"Commander it's jus that if I feel lots of emotion my biotics get a little out of control, in this new environment I haven't had time to do my meditation. I hope that you will still take me on the mission, I will control my biotics and I won't endanger the mission."

She turns on her heel and follow Liara, I turn to everyone around me. "Get back to work!" We land at the drop point and get out start the mission.

"We have to get to the conduit before it closes, move move MOVE!" I shout as we get into the mako and I hit the gas. We drive straight at it, dodging the geth and we get there just in time.

I check on everyone and Ashley is out cold, "Liara stay with Ashley. Tali and Garrus, come with me." I lead my friends into the elevator, not knowing what I'm getting myself into.

I wake up and I see the arms of the citadel closing and I see that we are tied up next to Sarren in what I guess is the Citadel Tower.

"Liara what happened?"

"Glad to see you are awake, Sovereign will be pleased to have a biotic of your strength in his army."

"I will never serve that monster!" I shoot him backwards and I hear someone shout. "ASHLEY! LIARA!" I turn to the source and I see Shepard and her friends. Someone or something hits me in the head again as I hear gunfire, I see blackness.

"Last chance Vakarian, your forces are gone and you are the only one left still resisting." I growl to the Turrian commander.

"The others are weak and are blind, they can't see how humans will destroy the galaxy."

"That's we're you're wrong, us humans may have our faults but we all have one common goal. Survive, and if you get in the way of all of the races of the galaxy surviving then you have to go. Sorry Garrus Vakarian, but as a Spectre and on the will of the council I say that you must die."

I close my eyes and pull the trigger, I hear a body collapse and people cheer around me. I am pulled into a separate room and I see the smiling faces of my friends, then everything goes dark.

"God damn it, wake up Ashley!" A distant voice yells at me. It sounds so much like Julia's, but I don't know where she is. It's been, according to the date, 100 years since I last saw her.

I slowly sit up and people stare at me, "How long was I out?"

"Two weeks, and according to Mr. Alenko you are his sister. You helped Commander Shepard stop this threat and I believe that you are a skilled biotic. Are these all true?"

I slowly nod my head and I ask the next 2 big questions that comes to my mind. "Is the council alive and can I stationed on the Normandy?"

"Yes and yes, Private Alenko you are allowed to serve on the Normandy."

"Thank you, and I won't let any of you down!" Everyone laughs and it feels like I'm back home before I got frozen, before the war, before I lost everything and gained a little. I look at the commander and I see anything but happiness on her face.
