Chapter 24

Rose is gone, Ashley is kidnapped. Now we can attack the Cerberus headquarters but I just can't, I lost my fight. I think that everyone else did too.

The rare time I come out of my cabin during the day I hear crying and silence, no laughing or gambling or arguments.

Just plain silence, I can't even face half of my squad mates. Hell I can't even face my boyfriend, everyone is just depressed. Liara is taking it the worst I think, she saw both Rose die and Ashley get taken.

Maybe I should spar someone, no can't injure someone. We need to get that data back.

"Commander, that data pad you got. I cracked the code."

Finally something interesting, I quickly run to the elevator and take it one level down. I am handed the data pad and I look through it.

Now we have to rescue Ashley, but not now.

"Joker head to the rendezvous point, we have to save those scientists now."

I reread the data pad, just to make sure. They can't do that to Ashley, they can't turn her into one of those monsters. Now I gained my fight back and I have to tell everyone to be ready.

I head to Liara's room and I open the door to see her on the ground, crying. When I walk over to her she doesn't even move, I shake her shoulder and she looks at me.

"Liara, look at this."

She reads the data pad and her eyes widen, "We're going now?"

"We can't let them do that to her, that is inhuman."

"Ya I know, I just hope we aren't to late but we have to save the scientist first." She glares at me.

I wake up strapped to a chair with doctors standing over me, guards the oh so Illusive Man.

"Let me go!"

"I'm sorry Commander, but your natural biotic abilities make you a perfect test subject for our newest technology."

He holds up a chip, that looks like- Oh dip shit, that was what Vakarian used to control most of my species. I thought all of them were destroyed, obviously he still had some followers.

"That chip is dangerous, it controlled billions of humans from one control center!" Oh crape, that might not have been the best idea.

"When would that have been?"

"Ummm, never mind. But that technology is not for humans, or for any species at all. It's to powerful in general for one person, let alone a whole species!"

He laughs, again his laugh is creepy.

"We mastered it, and you will be ours. This will make you the most powerful biotic ever, and we will control you."

I feel my fear rising and everything in the room is floating, even the people are floating away from me. I'm going all biotic bitch on then, I'm doing a Jack escape. I break away from my chair and try to run out the door but it locks and closes.

Someone pins me to the wall and I feel something metal clasp around my neck and a tiny prick makes me begin to loose control and become obedient. But no! I will not give up!

I try to fight the chip that they have on the back of my neck but I can't reach the chip and my brain is still cloudy.

"Who are you girl?"

A girl that didn't me answers.

"I am Power, the most powerful biotic in history and I serve Cerberus and only Cerberus."
