The clock strikes twelve, indicating it's midnight.
All the doors and windows are locked.
Two candles emit a faint light making the rest of the house look even more dim.
In front of the mirror I stare at my reflection. I stand still waiting for any movement.
The ritual is simple, once the clock hits zero the whole house must be in complete silence and darkness. All mirrors need to be covered, in exception of the one we will be looking at.
Don't break eye contact, that will be seen as disrespect.
Wait 1, 2, 3 minutes.
Nothing.
Four minutes pass and a slight change can be noticed.
The corners of the mouth are curving into a grim.
Or is just the brain playing tricks.
Five minutes and now the expression is not the same. The innocent and curious eyes are now corrupted. The once pure face is showing a smile carring nothing but wickedness.
I watch as my reflection steps back in fear, tears filling the eyes now wide open panicking.
You are staring paralyzed as I walk out the mirror.
I'm not gonna hurt you.
I'm just going to look.
