If you are a little bit older, then you must remember when movies were recorded in VHS.
Big cassettes that needed to be rewinded once you finish watching.
I'm not from that generation, but I always felt nostalgic by them. So I bought a recorder, a bunch of VHS and made a list of classic movies I wanted to tape.
It would take some time, so I figured it'll be better to do it at night.
I connected my computer to my TV, that was previous connected to the recorder. I would play the movie in some streaming plantform, being registered in the other end. The TV would also be programmed to shut down after the movie duration.
With that all set I went to bed, taking another look to the probably over-engineered complex in front of me.
I wake up with my phone's alarm. With a cup of coffee in my hand I speed throught the VHS to assure the quality.
That's when I notice it didn't shut down after the movie ended. It continued recording, this time throught my computer camera.
It showed my room. I got curious and let it play.
I moved around in my bed a few times and seem to talk in my sleep, nothing more.
Until I spotted a person's shadow in the corner of my room. I stopped the video and increased the brightness, perhaps it could be an optical illusion.
It didn't change, it only made more clear that someone was there. That person moved closer to me during the night, to the point where is was only a few feet away by the time the video ended.
The VHS was rewinding as I picked my phone to call the cops. Before I could go throught with it, I hear the sound of the tape starting to film again. I rose my eyes to it in confusion, it should've been ejected, when I noticed the timer.
Instead of the time going foward, it was going backwards. Like the tape had the minutes already timed. And, more strangely, it was only a few seconds.
To my horror I saw the shadow figure behind me throught the camera. I start the police call and ran out of my room.
I could only take a few steps before being pulled back and hearing sound of the tape ending.
