Another body in the national park.
People are starting to avoid places like this, because of how many murders are happening. Which is bad for business.
I have my suspects and I think they are the same as the police, even though they don't comment about it.
The detectives still didn't get here, so it gives me some time to look for evidences.
The protocol is simple and, almost, always the same.
I look for dirt or skin cell under the nails and extract them into a petri box. There's was blood on the floor, the guy died with his throat cut. Usually it's messy and with a lot of foot prints, but this time I couldn't see any marks on the floor or even on the victims body, leading to think that the killer stepped away right after the kill. With a collection tube I take some of the blood, to test on DNA, drugs and alcohol.
I checked the pockets for an ID or anything that can give me an identification. I found the wallet and put it in an evidence bag. This man probably has a family and a job, I might want to give it a quick search knowing that they are the main suspects or source of information.
I always want to move the body. I know it's against the protocol, but it could have something hidden. I don't want to make a bigger mess, so I just lift the body a bit to have a look of the back. Bloody, but clean of tracks.
After a few photos and notes, I pack everything up and wait to the detectives to arrive.
I'm waiting on the car with my computer. The victim was having some troubles with his wife according to social media. I don't know if it's enough to commit murder, but definitively enough to put her on the list of suspects.
I still have a lot of work to do, but it's a good start.
I just hope I didn't leave anything behind.
Having to clean your victim's body is harder than I thought and I don't want the detectives to find anything at the crime scene when they finally arrive.
