Today is Trinity's birthday.

She's not happy.

Today she officially reached three months in her pregnancy.

"Tobias" she yells and sniffles loudly making Tobias sigh from his spot in the living room. She has been crying all day but won't tell him what's wrong which was slightly irritating him.

"Yes my love?"

He gets up and walks in to the bedroom where Trinity sat in the bed, eating the birthday breakfast her boyfriend made her. He was wrapping the last of her presents when she called for him.

"Can we cuddle?" She asks in a sad voice making him smile softly.

"Of course beautiful." He walked to her and gathered her in his arms as he got comfortable in the bed. The—now empty—breakfast tray was sitting on the night stand along with her empty glass of apple juice.

"What's going on baby? You're suppose to be happy on your birthday" He says in a soft tone as he rubs her back softly. She positioned herself on top of with her face buried in his neck.

"I know. I-I just" She paused and sucked in a deep breath making Tobias pat her back encouragingly.

"This is my first birthday without my mom" She then says causing Tobias to freeze under her.

"Oh baby"

"I know she's in a bigger place but I-I just miss her and I wish she was here" She cried into his neck making Tobias wrap his arms around her tighter.

"I'm so sorry baby" he says softly.

"She means everything to me and the fact that she's gone and I'm here makes celebrating even sadder."

Tobias opens his mouth to speak but the little voice of Brielle Mae stops him. "Mommy are you crying?" She asks.

Trinity looks up from Tobias' neck to see Brielle standing in the doorway with the black teddy bear Trinity got her in her hands.

"I'm just a little sad sweetie" Trinity admits truthfully.

Brielle walks further in the room and climbs on the bed before crawling to Trinity who turns in Tobias's arms, sitting in between his legs.

"What's wrong mommy"

"Nothing sweetie." Trinity says running her hand through Mae's soft curls. I'm okay"

"Are you sure mommy?"

Trinity nods and Brielle stares at her for a moment, not believing her. She then nods and hugs Trinity. "Happy Birthday mommy"

"Thank you baby girl"

"What are you going to do for your birthday mommy?" Brielle asks her.

Trinity pauses before shrugging. "Your auntie Anissa wants to take me out shopping and then your daddy says" she stops and looks at Tobias. "What surprise is you giving me?" She asks him.

"Not telling you" he replies.

"That's racist" she grumbles making Tobias' jaw drop at that statement.

"Babe what" he laughs making her shrug and get out of the bed. She wipes at her eyes and picks Brielle up.

"You want to come shopping with me and Aunt Anissa?" She asks the little one who nods her head eagerly.

"Okay let's get you dressed sweetie" Trinity says, exiting the room and heading into Mae's room.

By time Brielle Mae was dressed, Anissa already arrived and was knocking on the front door. Tobias opened it for her before going to
go find Trinity who was now in the kitchen.

"Hey babe, Anissa is here"

She nods with a smile before pecking his lips. "I'll see you later okay?" She says and he nods kissing her lips once more. She then took Brielle's hand and they walked outside to Anissa's car where she was now waiting.

"So how have you been?" Anissa asks Trinity as they walk around the mall Anissa drove the three of them to.

"Honestly" Trinity sighed and shrugged her shoulders lightly. "I really don't know."

Anissa looks at Trinity, giving her full attention to her making Trinity bite her lip.

"I'm always crying and just emotional now. Partly because I miss my mom but it's also this pregnancy. I love my baby believe me but god sometimes I just wish I wasn't pregnant at all which is crazy because I'm only a few months and feeling like this."

Brielle was drinking a smoothie that Trinity had bought for her and was busting herself with her doll babies.

Anissa thought over Trinity's words before looking away her. "Have you told Tobias how you are feeling?"

Trinity shook her head.

"I don't want him to think I don't want to have this baby or that I don't love this baby because I do—I just." Trinity pauses and sighs. "I don't know anymore"

Anissa reached her hand out to squeeze Trinity's softly before giving her a reassuring smile. "That man loves you more than anything. The point of having a relationship is to have someone to truly communicate with and love."

"You need to be honest with him no matter the circumstances. Yes he might be confused at first, but you are his girlfriend and he loves you. He cares about you too much and should know what you are feeling especially if it's about you guys' unborn baby." She continues.

Trinity looks at Anissa. "Thank you Anissa"

Anissa smiles at her and nods. "Of course"

"Come on let's go stuff our faces with some food and then continue shopping before we leave." Anissa suggests making Trinity nod and smile.

"Come on baby" Trinity says holding her hand out for Brielle who let her tiny hand slip in her much larger one.

"Hungry?" Trinity asks Brielle who nods her head eagerly.

"Yes mommy"

"Let's get you some food" Trinity smiles down at Brielle Mae and follows Anissa to the food court.

"Can we get the Mickey nuggies?" Brielle asks Trinity.

"Of course baby."

Brielle smiled big and hurriedly—and eagerly—pulls a laughing Trinity to the food court. "Come on mommy" she says.

"Hold on baby relax it's not going anywhere" Trinity laughed but still let her little one pull her.
