Chapter 1: Hard Enough

Moons had seemed to pass at this point, as I knew that my friend LimpFoot had in fact said that she was in fact going to be gone for quite a while, but I really had not thought that it was in fact going to be as long as it was that it had been if I was not going to lie to my self either, as I felt like I could not help but to be quite a bit worried, and quite a bit scared for her, even if it was that my mate MintNose had told me that every thing was going to be fine, and LimpFoot knew as to just what it was that she was even doing.
I just was not all too sure about all of that how ever, if I was not going to lie to my self either, as I felt quite a bit guilty for the fact that I had let her go, as I knew that it had been a very late night when she had told me that she was going to have to leave, as I really had not been thinking it at the time, but I felt like since it was that she was in fact a medicine cat of course, that where ever it was that she had gone off to, she would die from starvation, as she did not really know how to hunt, once again.
If she had been gone for several moons, and she had not at least taught her a little bit of how it was to hunt, or it was that she had not at the very least tried to go and meet a cat that would help her, than she for sure should be dead by this point, all at the exact same time as well, once again, as I wish that I had in fact thought on the fact that I should have sent a cat to go and help her on just where it was that she was going off to.
I still also kind of felt like I could not help but to be scared, as to the fact that I knew that when she had been a lot younger, she had dealt with the fact that she had got angry easily, and she had got very angry, and she might have run off, and she might never come back, as that would mean not only would Windclan have to go and find a new medicine cat, which would leave us very weak, as it had for the last few moons, as luckily it had been new leaf when she had left, and we had in fact been fine for the time being, as no cats had got sick, or too badly injured.
I had to thank my mate MintNose for all of that, as much as it was that it kind of felt like we really had not been getting along all too much as of late, all at the exact same time as well, as I knew that had a lot to do with the decision that I had made a few gatherings ago, all at the exact same time as well, as to the fact that I had not wanted there to be any more new cats that were not born in to the clan to go and join the clans, all at the exact same time as well, which I knew she had a fair point which I agreed on too, but sadly no one else did, which was bad for me.
I knew that I had made the right decision, but MintNose was no longer staying in my nest, as I knew that she was staying in the medicine den, as she was doing LimpFoot's job right now, all at the exact same time as well, but it still kind of hurt me quite a bit if I was going to be for real with my self, all at the exact same time as well, none the less, as I dipped my head quite a bit low to the ground all at once, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts once again, as I knew that it was not just the fact that she was trying to take care of the sick and injured cats.
She was still upset with me, and she did not want to admit to it, which I felt like the last thing that I wanted to do was pressure her right now, so I felt like I should just leave it be for the time being, as I just kind of shook my head a bit to my self all at once, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before now once again.
I blinked my eyes a few times all at once, as I then all of the sudden began to start to go on ahead and begin to start to notice that there was a cat that was staring at me right at this very moment in time as well, from the other side of the clearing, which did in fact confuse me quite a bit if I was not going to lie to my self either, as to just what it was that was even going on in the very first place any ways, as I then all of the sudden began to start to notice that the cat that was staring at me right now just so happened to be ShiloWing.
That was of course the cat that had been on the lake with my mate that day that YoungTail had died to try and save the both of them, all at the exact same time as well, as I kind of felt like MintNose might have been lying a bit about the story that she had told me as to the fact that she had said that ShiloWing had been trying to go and take her to where it was that one of her friends was at, that wanted to go and join the clan, all at the exact same time as well.
ShiloWing had quite a bit of a pretty smile on her face, as she was quite a bit of a beautiful cat with out a doubt if I was not going to lie to my self either, but I kind of felt like I should not be thinking that way at all about her right at this very moment in time too, as I then all of the sudden began to start to shake my head quite a bit to my self all at once, as I then all of the sudden began to start to look away from her all of the sudden, all at the exact same time as well.
I felt like if what it was that they had in fact told me as to the fact that they had said that they were going to go and get a friend he wanted to go and join Windclan was in fact true, that they would have gone back for that friend as soon as it was that the lake had began to warm up, all at the exact same time too, as I still was not all too sure about the entire story if I was going to be for real with my self once again, as I then all of the sudden began to start to shake my head quite a bit to my self all of the sudden, all at once.
I began to start to get my mind, and I began to start to get my focus on the fact that I then began to start to hear paw steps from right behind me, all at the exact same time as well, that then all of the sudden began to start to draw my attention over to that, luckily enough for me, all at the exact same time too, as I then began to start to turn my head over to the cat that was walking over to me right now, and it was clear that the cat was in fact trying to get my attention on to them, all at the exact same time as well.
The cat that I saw that was in fact right behind me just so happened to be my good friend, and it just so happened to be the deputy of Windclan, all at the exact same time as well, which was of course OwlThroat, as I saw that he had quite a bit of a worried look on his face right at this very moment in time as well, though the worried look that he had on his face right now too, almost seemed to be like he was mocking me quite a bit, all at the exact same time too.
I was quite a bit confused by it, as I then all of the sudden began to start to tilt my head over to my friend, to let him know, all at the exact same time as well, that I did not have a single clue as to just what it was that he was even getting at right at this very moment in time, in the very first place any ways, once again. OwlThroat just began to start to continue to stare at me for a little bit longer, as if he did not have a single clue as to just what it was that was going on with me right at this very moment in time too.
I was almost tempted to roll my eyes over towards him, as I just wanted him to go on ahead and tell me what it was that he was even about to say to me in the very first place any ways, all at the exact same time as well. I just began to start to then all of the sudden hear my friend finally begin to speak to me after just a little bit more time, thankfully enough as well, as I then all of the sudden began to start to listen as to just what it was that he even had to say once again, as soon as it was that he did in fact do as such a thing.
"There are some rogues that are on our land! We caught our scent on a border patrol, what do you want us to do about them? You want us to attack them? You want us to kill them?" OwlThroat said to me, all at the exact same time as well, as I was quite a bit lost as to just what it was that he was even getting at right at this very moment in time, in the very first place any ways, once again, as I kept my head tilted over towards him after it was that he had said what it was that he had even said to me.
It was clear that he was making fun of me, and that he was in fact joking with me right at this very moment in time as well, none the less, but right now if I was not going to lie to my self either, I really kind of felt like I really was not in the mood for all of that at all right at this very moment in time too, as I then all of the sudden began to start to shake my head quite a bit heavily to my self, all at the exact same time as well, once again.
I gulped quite a bit heavily to my self all at once, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before now once again, and I then began to start to shake my head over to my friend all of the sudden, shortly before it was that I then all of the sudden did in fact begin to start to go right on ahead and begin to speak back to him, all at the exact same time as well, as I still did not have a single clue as to just what it was that he was even getting at right at this very moment in time, in the very first place any ways, once again.
"What are you talking about? I told you at the clan meeting a while ago that I had only said what I said to make the other clans happy... If there is any cats that are in our territory right now that are not supposed to be here, than just leave them alone... I doubt they mean any harm..." I said to him, as I looked at him right in to his eyes, to make sure that he did in fact know that I was in fact being quite a bit serious as to just what it was that I had in fact said to him, all at the exact same time as well, once again.
I was not all too sure as to just what it was that he was getting at, and just how it was that he had in fact forgot as to just what it was that I had in fact said to him, and I had said to the rest of the clan at the meeting that had not happened all too long ago, after the gathering that we had a couple moons ago, as I was just a bit lost in my head right now, as I knew that it had been late when I had said it, as I wondered if I actually had said it.
Perhaps that was why it was that MintNose was still not all too happy with me right now, as to the fact that it was that I had planned on saying what it was that I had said, and I had let it all play through my head, but in reality, I had not done as such a thing like that at all, and I had simply just gone in to my den, and I had gone to sleep that night, all at the exact same time as well, which I did in fact feel like that too could also be a possibility, all at the exact same time as well, if I was in fact going to be for real with my self.
I breathed in quite a bit heavily to my self all at once, as I then began to start to get my mind, and I began to start to get my focus off of all of the rest of that other stuff once again, as I then began to start to hear OwlThroat begin to start to laugh at me all of the sudden, which did in fact confuse me quite a bit once again, as to just what it was that he found to be so funny in the very first place any ways once again, as I felt quite a bit worried about the fact that there was now all of the sudden a bunch of cats that were staring at us right now, due to the fact that they all too were quite a bit confused as to just why it was that OwlThroat was laughing so loudly right at this very moment in time as well, once again.
I simply just stood there for just a little bit longer, as I did my best to try to keep my self as calm and as cool as I felt like I possibly could, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before now once again, as I then all of the sudden began to start to stare at my friend right in to his eyes, as he then began to start to calm him self down on the fact that he was laughing so loudly right at this very moment in time too, as he was now all of the sudden beginning to start to speak to me.
I still was quite a bit lost as to just what it was that was even going on with him right at this very moment in time as well, any ways, if I was going to be for real with my self, all at the exact same time as well, but in the end, I managed to calm my self down, and I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before hand once again, as I then just began to start to nod to him, to let him know that I was in fact paying attention as to just what it was that he was even about to say to me in the very first place any ways, once again.
OwlThroat just seemed to be smirking still, as it was clear that he felt like what it was that had just happened a few moments before hand was quite a bit funny to him, all at the exact same time as well, which I felt like was not funny at all to me, but I just got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts once again, as I then all of the sudden began to start to hear him start to speak to me once again, as I then did in fact begin to start to listen as to just what it was that he even had to say to me in the very first place any ways, once again.
"Relax MoonStar... I'm just joking... You need to lighten up the mood some times..." He said to me, as he then all of the sudden began to start to squint his eyes at me with a bit more of a serious look on his face all at the exact same time as well, to let me know that he was in fact being serious as to just what it was that he had even said to me in the very first place any ways once again, as I then all of the sudden began to start to calm my self down, and I began to start to relax my self.
I really could not tell if I was going to be for real with my self, as I kind of felt like I had a lot on my mind as of late, and I felt like there really had not been all too much to joke about at all, all at the exact same time as well, but in the end, I kind of just managed to get my mind, and I managed to get my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before now once again, as I then began to start to breath in quite a bit heavily to my self, all at the exact same time too.
I seemed to stare down at the ground quite a bit to my self, all at once, as I just did my best to try to calm my self down once again, as I was not all too sure as to just what it was that was even up with me right at this very moment in time any ways, if I was going to be for real with my self once again, as I did my best to try to get my mind, and I did my best to try to get my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before now once again, at that.
I was not all too sure as to just what it was that I should do at first, that was of course until I then all of the sudden began to start to feel my friends head as he began to start to try to lift my own head up all at the exact same time as well, which did in fact make me feel quite a bit better if I was going to be for real with my self too, as I then all of the sudden began to start to crack a bit of a smile on my face all at once, as soon as it was that I looked at my friend right in to my eyes right now.
I was not all too sure as to just what it was that was wrong with me if I was going to be for real with my self, all at the exact same time as well, once again, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before now, once again, as I then began to start to realize all at once, as to just what it was that was so wrong with me, and just what it was that was even going on with me right at this very moment in time as well, once again.
That was of course my mate, as I felt like I was a little bit embarrassed about it at first, of course, that was until I then began to start to realize that it was just me and my best friend right now, and that there was no one else that was paying attention to us at all right at this very moment in time too, as I then began to start to calm my self down all at once, all at the exact same time as well, and I then all of the sudden began to start to nod to my friend, all at the exact same time as well, to let him know that I was in fact about to go right on ahead and start to speak to him, once again.
My friend seemed to be a little bit lost in his own head as it seemed to be at first, as I felt like that could just be due to the fact that he was worried about me right now, but in the end how ever, luckily enough for me, he did in fact begin to start to nod back to me all of the sudden, to let me know that he was in fact paying attention as to just what it was that I was even about to say to him, all at the exact same time as well, once again.
I let out quite a bit of a soft sigh of relief to my self all at once, as I was in fact glad for my friend, and I was in fact grateful for him, all at the exact same time too, as I then all of the sudden began to start to begin to speak to him, all at the exact same time as well, now that it was that I did in fact realize that he was in fact listening as to just what it was that I was even saying to him in the very first place any ways, once again, at that.
"I know... It's just really hard right now... I just can't help but to be a little bit worried that I am losing my mate... It seems like she doesn't want to be around me any more OwlThroat... She hasn't spoken to in days, and she doesn't even stay in the same den as me, and most of the time there's no cats in the medicine den... LimpFoot always made sure to speak to me every day..." I said to him, as I began to start to vent all of that to my friend, and all of my worries and all of my concerns to him, all at the exact same time too.
That was when it then all of the sudden began to start to hit him all at once as to just what it was that I was even talking about in the very first place any ways, as it was clear to me that he was now starting to under stand what it was that I was so worried about, as I knew that he too had a mate, all at the exact same time as well, as I knew that if he had the exact same thing that was happening to me right now, happening to him, than I was sure that he too would be worried about that.
I kind of just shook my head a bit to my self all at once, as I kind of felt like I was just over thinking all of this perhaps, and I really just needed to calm my self down, all at the exact same time too, as I then all of the sudden began to start to breath in quite a bit heavily to my self, all at the exact same time as well, once again, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before now once again.
I just kind of shook my head quite a bit heavily to my self all at once, as I then all of the sudden began to start to hear that my friend was now beginning to start to speak back to me, which was quite a bit fast as well, which did in fact make me feel quite a bit better if I was going to be for real with my self as well, as I then all of the sudden began to my head, and I got my eyes and my focus on him all at once, as I then all of the sudden began to start to listen as to just what it was that he even had to say to me, all at the exact same time as well, once again.
"Some times MoonStar, you got to take the first step, and you've got to take the first initiative..." He said to me, as I saw him then all of the sudden start to squint his eyes over towards me all at once, to make sure that I had in fact heard as to just what it was that he had even said to me in the very first place any ways, once again, as I blinked my eyes a few times, and I then all of the sudden began to start to realize as well, as to just what it was that he had even said to me once again.
I blinked my eyes a few times, as I then all of the sudden began to start to realize as to just what it was I should do next, all at the exact same time too, as I then all of the sudden began to start to breath in quite a bit heavily to my self all at once, as I got my mind, and I got my focus on the fact that I knew that I needed to go and speak to my mate, just as it was that he had said, as I felt like for all that I knew, she very well could be hurt, and she could in fact be thinking the exact same thing that I was right at this very moment in time as well, for all that it was that I knew.
I did my best to try to calm my self down all at once, as I then all of the sudden began to start to nod back to my friend, to let him know that I had in fact heard as to just what it was that he had even said to me, all at the exact same time as well, and also to let him know that I did in fact realize that he was in fact correct with just what it was that he had even said to me, all at the exact same time as well, as I then once again blinked my eyes over towards him, just as I had done before.
My friend began to start to smile over towards me, as I then all of the sudden began to start to go right on ahead and speak to him, all at once, as of course I was in fact fairly certain that he was in fact paying attention as to just what it was that I even about to say to him, all at the exact same time as well, as I knew that he was in fact listening as to just what it was that I was even about to say to him, all at the exact same time as well, once again.
"Thank you OwlThroat... You have always been a good friend to me... You are right... I think I need to go on and speak to her before she might get busy in there..." I said to him, all at the exact same time as well, as I smiled at him for just a little bit longer, all at the exact same time as well, as I did my best to try to keep my self as calm as I felt like I possibly could in the mean time, all at the exact same time too, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before now, once again.
My friend seemed to stare at me for just a little bit longer, until he then all of the sudden began to start to go right on ahead and begin to start to nod back to me, all at once, as he then all of the sudden began to start to nod back to me, all at once, to let me know that he was in fact glad to be my friend, and that he too was also grateful for me, all at the exact same time as well, once again, as I let out quite a bit of another soft sigh of some relief to my self all at once.
OwlThroat then all of the sudden began to start to go on ahead and he put his paw on mine, which confused me quite a bit as to just what it was that he was even doing right now in the very first place any ways, until I then all of the sudden began to start to see him begin to start to walk past me, all at the exact same time as well, as I saw that he was heading over to the prey pile to get some thing to eat, and to go on ahead and get on with his day.
I let out quite a bit of a heavy sigh to my self all at once, as I felt like I needed to be doing the exact same thing that he was doing right at this very moment in time as well, as I then all of the sudden began to start to go right on ahead and head over to just where it was that I needed to be going over to, as that was after all just what it was that we had in fact been talking about just a few moments before, all at the exact same time as well, none the less, once again.
As I began to start to head over to the medicine den, I then all of the sudden began to start to hear OwlThroat begin to speak to me all at the exact same time as well, as it seemed like the conversation that we had just been having a few moments before hand, was not yet over, as I was in fact quite a bit lost by that, all at the exact same time as well, as I then all of the sudden began to start to stop my self, all at the exact same time too, as I then all of the sudden began to start to turn my head around over to my friend, all at the exact same time too.
As I stared at my friend for just a little bit of some time, I then all of the sudden began to start to to tilt my head over to him, as he did not seem to be all too bothered by that at all, as he simply continued to speak to me, as I did in fact begin to start to continue to listen as to just what it was that he even had to say to me, all at the exact same time as well, none the less.
"Maybe the both of you should get busy in there if you no what I mean..." He said to me, as I was quite a bit lost as to just what it was that he was even talking about right at this very moment in time as well, until I then all of the sudden began to start to see the big smile that he had on his face, all at the exact same time as well, and it then all of the sudden began to start to hit me as to just what it was that he was even getting at in the very first place any ways, once again.
I did my best to try to keep my self as calm as I felt like I possibly could, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before now, once again, as I just kind of rolled my eyes a bit towards him, which he did not seem to notice what so ever, all at the exact same time as well, as I saw that he was in fact continuing to head over to the prey pile, so that he could in fact get some thing to eat, all at the exact same time as well, once again, none the less.
I began to start to breath in quite a bit heavily to my self all at once, as I then began to start to think on just what it was that he had even said to me in the very first place any ways, once again, as I began to start to think on what if that was a good idea, as I had always imagined as to just what it was that it would be like if it was that me and her were in fact to have kits, all at the exact same time as well, as she had brought it up several times to me, almost as if she was trying to be getting at that.
I began to start to get quite a bit excited about all of that, all at once, as I then began to start to go a little bit faster over to the medicine den, until I then began to start to remember as to just why it was that she was even in the medicine den in the very first place any ways, as I then began to start to remember all of the sudden as to the fact that LimpFoot was in fact not in the clan at all right now, as she was going on some sort of mission right now, or what ever it was that she was even doing right now.
I did my best to try to keep my self as calm as I felt like I possibly could, all at once, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before now once again, as I knew that she could not be pregnant right now when it was that we did not have any medicine cats in our clan at all, all at the exact same time as well, as I began to start to breath in quite a bit heavily to my self all at once, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before now, once again, none the less.
As I seemed to stare out in to the den, all at the exact same time as well, as I was right at the front entrance, that was when I then all of the sudden began to start to hear a voice from in side, as I began to start to realize all at once, that the voice that was in side of that den right at this very moment in time as well, just so happened to be my mate, as I began to start to realize that she was in fact speaking to me right at this very moment in time too.
I blinked my eyes a few times to my self all at once, as I did my best to try to calm my self down all at once, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before now once again, as I then all of the sudden began to start to listen as to just what it was that she even had to say to me in the very first place any ways, once again.
"Hey MoonStar... What have you come in here for? Is there any cats sick, or have you got a thorn in you?" She asked me, as she had the most calm as she had the most soothing voice in the world, as to just what it was that she had even said to me, all at the exact same time as well, but it was clear though, all at the exact same time as well, that she still was not all too happy with me, as I could hear it in the tone of her voice, as it was clear that she really did not want to be around me at all right at this very moment in time too.
It kind of hurt me quite a bit, if I was going to be for real with my self too, but I simply just did my best to try to keep my self as calm as I felt like I possibly could, as I got my mind, and I got my focus more on the fact that was after all as to just what it was that I had come in to the den for, all at the exact same time as well, as I knew that I had come in to here so that we could set aside our differences, all at the exact same time as well, once again, just as it was that OwlThroat had told me to go and do, all at the exact same time too, once again, at that.
I breathed in quite a bit heavily to my self all at once, as I just got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts all at once, as I just continued to start to head my self in to the den, all at once, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of the rest of those other thoughts that I had in fact been thinking on long before now once again, as soon as it was that I had seen the face of my mate, as she was so beautiful, but I could tell that she was quite a bit hurt right now, all at the exact same time too.
I felt like she was hurt because of me if I was going to be for real with my self too, as I knew that a lot of this had been just as much my fault as it had been hers, as I felt like as far as I could tell, she seemed to be wanting to make up for all of this as much as I did. I did my best to just try to calm my self down in the mean time, as I then all of the sudden began to start to go right on ahead and nod to her, all at the exact same time as well, once again.
MintNose seemed to stare at me with quite a bit of a blank look on her face for quite a bit of some time, until in the end, she finally let out quite a bit of a heavy sigh all of the sudden, which even I could hear, as she then all of the sudden, thankfully enough did in fact begin to start to nod back to me in the end, to let me know that she was in fact paying attention as to just what it was that I was even about to go right on ahead and say to her, all at the exact same time as well.
As I just seemed to stare at her for a little bit longer, I then all of the sudden began to start to wake my self up all of the sudden, as I then all of the sudden began to start to speak to her all at once, now that it was that I did in fact begin to start to realize that she still was here with me, and that she still was listening as to just what it was that I was even about to go on ahead and say to her, all at the exact same time as well, once again.
