Andy's POV

I awoke early the next morning to hear yelling and what I think was fighting right outside the hut. I got up as quick as I could and made my way to the entrance. Ana and Jake were yelling at each other and as soon as she noticed I was listening she took a step back and lowered her head, looking at the ground. Jake hadn't noticed I was there yet and continued yelling at her.

"He doesn't care that he is hurt and is going to fight! He made up his mind yesterday and nothing we said to him changed his mind!" Her head snapped up and she took a few steps toward Jake.

"I'm sure he does care! He just doesn't want to let anyone down and that is a hard decision a leader has to make! I know what it is like! I was the leader before you all arrived and had the same burden..." Her voice trailed off and she glanced over at me. Jake finally took the hint and turned his head to see me leaning against the hut with a cigarette in hand.

"She is right Jake. It isn't an easy task. We hold every life on our shoulders, have the pain of watching our army fall, protecting them with our lives, giving them the best life you possibly can. You see them suffer, become victorious or fail. You are left with the guilt when something happens to them just like I feel accountable because I wasn't able to keep Lourdes safe. You, CC, Ashley, Jinxx, Ana and myself have to protect them. We are the leaders and need to do whatever we can to save them and give them the strength in battle." I threw my cigarette down and stomped it out, pushing off of the hut and walked down to both of them.

"I know it's a hard job and nobody blames you for what happened to Lourdes. It was stupid of you to go out there alone, yes, but we know why you did it. Honestly I think any one of us would have done it if our girl friends were going to be taken. We just have to look past this and save them from F.E.A.R before they end up dead." Jake placed his hand on my shoulder and gave me a reassuring look before walking off, leaving Ana and I in silence.

"Michelle and I want to clean and re-bandage that before you leave. I am staying behind to treat the wounded since that is my specialty more so than fighting, though I am well versed in all skills. I have trained most of the Rebels in my techniques so they will help more than I can." Ana turned and started to walk off but I grabbed her arm quickly.

"You shouldn't put yourself down like that. You have been a big help to us already. Thank you." She turned her head away quickly but I still caught the slight blush she was trying to hide.

"No, Thank you guys for coming and helping us. We wouldn't have gotten this far without you. I mean, we would have eventually fought back but I'm not sure how it would have gone. You should go back inside while I go get Michelle. It is almost noon." I loosened my grip and as soon as I let her arm go she was running off.

I walked back into the hut and paced around rethinking the plan and taking into consideration the position I was in at the moment. I let my emotions guide me again yesterday which I knew was another stupid mark on my part. I couldn't afford to do that today. There was too much at stake for any mistakes today.

Michelle and Ana came in drawing me from my thoughts. I stopped pacing as they walked over to me and did their usual fix up and helped me into my jacket. Michelle whispered something to Ana and she nodded then walked out of the hut, leaving Michelle who looked like she was on the brink of tears.

"Please make sure everyone comes back alive. I can't stand the thought of losing CC and I know the others feel the same about their boyfriends and brothers. Promise me.. I mean promise us that you will do what you can to see that they and you are safe." I looked down at her as she grabbed my arms and looked at me with tears rolling down her cheeks.

"I will. I promise. Take care of the younger Rebels and Ana while we are gone. We will return later when we have accomplished our mission." I pulled her into a hug trying to console her just as CC walked in. Michelle let go of me and ran to him hugging him hard and I took that moment to leave and head to the group that was forming in the center of the compound.

"Everyone looks ready we are just waiting on CC. We all already said our goodbyes for now." Ashley looked over at me as I joined them to stand in front of the Rebels. A few minutes later CC ran up to us and got into his spot then looked at me. I gave a simple nod and we started marching toward F.E.A.R.

Lourdes POV

I slowly opened my eyes and looked around realizing I was in what looked like a dungeon. I caught a whiff of something that smelled horrible and covered my nose with the sleeve of my shirt before I stood up and walked over to the side of the cage I was in. A small girl who looked only to be 15 or so was crowded in the corner and shaking violently. I lowered myself down to her level and reached my hand through the bars, putting my hand on her shoulder and watching as she jumped away from my touch.

"I'm sorry. Did I scare you? I mean you no harm." She looked up at me with her brown eyes full of fear, her hair was in a mess and I could barely tell it was brown.

"Wh- who are... you?" She sounded horrible, like she had been screaming for ages. Seeing a little girl in this state filled me with sorrow.

"I am Lourdes. What is your name?" I sat down against the wall and smiled down at her, trying to make her feel better.

"I'm Tiffy, or at least that's what I'm known as around here. I have been here for so long I don't remember my real name." She moved closer to me and pulled her legs to her chest, looking down at the concrete floor.

"I like Tiffy. It's a wonderful name and it suits you. How long have you been here actually?" She held up 6 of her fingers and glanced over at me from under her hair.

"6 years! you have been here that long?!" I stared down at her with wide eyes and couldn't believe she has been suffering that long.

"Shhhhhhhhhh! You don't want the guards to come. Trust me. Yes I have been here that long but some of us have been here longer. They have started killing them off now and I know I'm going to be up soon. Hopefully it will be the end of my suffering." Her head snapped in my general direction, leaving me curious as to what she was doing.

"They are coming. Either for you or for me. Be ready." She lowered her head so it was resting on her arms, making it look like she was sleeping. My heart started to race as I heard the screeching of a metal door being opened and boots walking toward us. I closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep, opening one of my eyes so it was barely noticeable that I was watching them.

They stopped in front of Tiffy's cell and messed with the lock for a second, before throwing the door open and walking over to her. They started grabbing her and I threw my hands through the bars and grabbed her arm trying to resist them but they pulled her free from my grasp and started dragging her off.

"Fight them Tiffy! Do something! Don't give in to them!" I ran to the front of my cell and held onto the bars tightly, waiting for her to do something but all she did was shake her head back and forth.

"There is no escape, and no fight left in me. I had already accepted my death 2 years ago." She looked up at me as they drug her down the corridor by her arms and gave me a painful smile before mouthing a small sorry. I began crying and lowered myself into the corner knowing I would never see her again.
