"Hey, Potter!"
Avalon called entering the common room, looking very pink in the face from the cold wind. Harry looked up from his place, along with Ron and Hermione who had showered sweets they bought from Hogsmeade into his lap.
"Remember when I promised you to bring as many sweets as I can?" said Avalon stopping in front of him. "Well, I couldn't. I forgot that I haven't got any money to buy anything."
"It's okay," Harry reassured. "Really."
"Why haven't you got any money?" Ron asked loudly, getting a sharp look from Hermione who obviously thought this was inappropriate to ask.
"Because our parents didn't gave us any." Melora said simply, from beside her. "It was our punishment. Last month Avalon here thought it would be a great idea to drive our dad's car without any supervision. She dragged me with her, and needless to say, she then crashed the car straight into the post office."
It wasn't a lie.
Harry and Ron howled with laughter and Hermione had an alarmed look on her face.
"Okay, first of all, I only wanted to learn how to drive." Avalon defended herself. "And you thought it was a great idea too!"
"Well, I thought Dad or Mum were going to be with us!" Melora shot back.
"But why would you do that? It was irresponsible and not to say very dangerous." Hermione said, carrying a disapproving look in her eyes.
"I told you the movies made her cooler than she originally was, they completely changed her character." Avalon said looking at Melora, in 'I told you so' tone.
"What are you talking about?" Harry asked, giving them a confused look. Ron and Hermione had the same look on their faces.
"Nothing that concerns you, Potter." Melora said offhandedly, "My sister is just babbling nonsense."
"Hey!" Avalon said indignantly.
"Anyway, that reminds me of something we heard from a fifth year Gryffindor." Melora said, looking at Harry and Ron interestingly. "We heard that you two flew a car to Hogwarts in your second year and then and the crashed into Whomping Willow."
"Yeah, that was, well, er, an accident." said Harry looking awkward.
"We missed the train." Ron explained. "And we couldn't think of anything else."
Hermione tsked in disapproval, while Melora and Avalon laughed.
"It was cool." Avalon grinned, and at this both Ron and Harry's face brightened up.
"Absolutely amazing." added Melora, giving thumbs up.
"It wasn't." Hermione said quickly. "They could've been expelled!"
"But they weren't." Avalon said pointedly.
Harry and Ron grinned, the latter looking very smug.
"We'd better go down, you know, the feast'll be starting in five minutes." said Hermione checking her watch.
The five of them hurried through the portrait hole and into the crowd.
"So what exactly did you do, Potter?" Avalon asked, even though she knew exactly what he did. She just wanted to know whether he was willing to share the piece of information with them of not.
"Nothing interesting." said Harry, shrugging.
Avalon felt a little disappointment in her that he didn't tell her about his talk with Lupin, but shoved the hurt away before it could take over her mind.
