Avalon never thought she would feel the gloom before leaving for Hogwarts, because Hogwarts was literally her home and she loved it, in fact a lot more than any student ever did or ever will. But the gloom was because she would be leaving Burrow, and there would no Mrs. Weasley to cook delicious food for them. Hogwarts food was absolutely amazing, but it didn't had the homely taste which Mrs. Weasley's food had.

She had just gotten ready, when Melora poked her head from the door and said, "Mr. Weasley and Mr. Diggory are talking about Mad-eye downstairs."

"Mad-eye?" Avalon repeated excitedly.

"Who's Mad-eye?" asked Hermione, looking confused.

"Someone Avalon worships." said Melora.

Avalon didn't bother denying it as she rushed down the stairs, her steps making loud noises. Avalon walked into the kitchen and found Bill, Charlie, Harry, Ron and the twins along with Mrs. Weasley already there.

"Did someone say Mad-Eye?" Bill asked, who had just entered the kitchen. "What's he been up to now?"

"He says someone tried to break into his house last night," said Mrs. Weasley.

"I heard you were talking about Mad-Eye." said Avalon, announcing her presence in the kitchen.

"Mad-Eye Moody?" said George thoughtfully, spreading marmalade on his toast. "Isn't he that nutter —"

"He isn't a nutter." said Avalon defensively.

"Your father thinks very highly of Mad-Eye Moody," said Mrs. Weasley sternly to George.

"Yeah, well, Dad collects plugs, doesn't he?" said Fred quietly as Mrs. Weasley left the room. "Birds of a feather . . ."

"Mad-Eye Moody is simply a genius." said Avalon.

"Moody was a great wizard in his time," said Bill.

"I would call him the best Auror in the world." said Avalon proudly.

"You know him?" said Bill, looking at her.

"My parents told me about him. They're Aurors in the ministry." Avalon told him.

"Moody's an old friend of Dumbledore's, isn't he?" said Charlie.

"Dumbledore's not what you'd call normal, though, is he?" said Fred. "I mean, I know he's a genius and everything . . ."

"Oh, Fred, don't you know? All geniuses are crazy." she grinned at him.

"Who is Mad-Eye?" asked Harry.

"He's retired, used to work at the Ministry," said Charlie. "I met him once when Dad took me into work with him. He was an Auror — one of the best  --"

" -- the best Auror." corrected Avalon.

"Auror means a dark Wizard catcher, right?" said Harry, looking at Avalon to confirm it. She had told him that a year ago when they were learning Patronus spell from Remus.

"Yes," Charlie nodded. "Half the cells in Azkaban are full because of him. He made himself loads of enemies, though . . . the families of people he caught, mainly . . . and I heard he's been getting really paranoid in his old age. Doesn't trust anyone anymore. Sees Dark wizards everywhere."

"Well, that's what they say." said Avalon, popping a toast in her mouth. "Mad-eye is a little paranoid -- fine, maybe more than a little." she added, seeing the raised eyebrow of Bill. "But it doesn't change that he's one hell of an Auror. He's the best in his field, and not to say he's nothing like those morons in the ministry who only wags their tail at the Minister's every order -- fair or unfair."
