Avalon rushed toward down the corridor, checking her watch along the way making sure she wasn't late for her Potions class. She had fallen asleep in library during the lunch break and it was fortunate that she had woken up in time because Snape would skin her alive if she was even a second late.

She had been looking at her watch when she turned around the corner which led toward the stairs, and collided into a person coming from the other end. The impact of the collision was so great that the two fell down on the ground, with Avalon directly on top of the person.

"Ouch!" she cried out, as her forehead collided with the person.

She opened her eyes and found herself face to face with Fred who looked stumped. She suddenly noticed how close their faces were -- only inches apart. She quickly got off him and stood up, rubbing her forehead along.

Fred blinked out of the daze before slowly getting up.

"Sorry. I wasn't looking." She told him, still wincing in pain.

"It's --" He cleared his throat. "It's fine. Where're you heading anyway?"

"I have Potions." She told him. "Snape will kill me if I'm even a second late."

She glanced at her watch. She still had four minutes till the start of her class. She opened her mouth to tell him that she should get going, but stopped when she was two unmistakable figure appear in the corridor. It was Cho with Cedric. And she was laughing.

A sudden jealously ignited in her heart. For a second she wanted to head up to them and separate them forever.

"Why do you like her?"

Fred's voice snapped her mouth of her thoughts and she looked at him. He was gesturing toward Cho.

"She's pretty."

Fred raised one eyebrow at her. She half wondered how did he managed to do that.

"Very pretty." she added.

"Nothing else?" He asked, not even breaking a smile.

"Well, she's kind and nice . . . and she's a great flier!"

"I'm a great a flier too." said Fred seriously.

"So?" She said confused.

A faint blush appeared on his cheek. He shifted his eye behind her. "Let's first get away from here." He said. "I'm sure you don't want to face them now."

Before she could say anything, he grabbed her hand and dragged her toward the marble staircase which lead directly toward the entrance hall. He only left her hand when they had reached the entrance hall.

"You should go." Fred told her. "You don't want to miss Potions."

Avalon glanced at her watch again. Only two minutes left. "Shit. Thanks for the reminder." she smiled at him before sprinting toward the dungeons.

When she reached the Snape's class, it was chaos outside. Harry and Malfoy both had their wands outside. Goyle was sprouting great ugly boils on his nose. Melora and Ron beside Hermione, who's front teeth were growing at an alarming rate.

"Jesus Christ." Avalon swore under her breath.

She had only hurried toward Hermione when Snape's voice sounded from behind them.

"And what is all this noise about?" He said in a soft, deadly voice.

The Slytherins clamoured to give their explanations; Snape pointed a long yellow finger at Malfoy and said, "Explain."
